Who are we? 👋
We’re a new Special Olympics Ireland club for children and young people aged 4–17 with an intellectual disability.

Whether you’re interested in joining us as an athlete or volunteer, we’d love to hear from you! ⭐

💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We were delighted to have our athletes Jack, Thomas, Ted and Emmy helping to promote the upcoming RunSkibb event taking place next weekend, July 11th & 12th!

A huge thank you to the organisers for thinking of us and choosing our club as one of this year's beneficiaries. As a new club, this support means so much as we continue to grow and provide Special Olympics opportunities for people with an intellectual disability across West Cork.

There's still time to sign up for the 5K, 10K or Half Marathon, so why not get involved? We wish the very best of luck to everyone taking part – enjoy every step of the journey! 🍀

📰 Pick up this week's The Southern Star! 📰

A huge thank you to Jackie Keogh for visiting one of our Saturday morning sessions and helping to showcase the incredible work being done by our athletes, volunteers, and families.

We are so proud of what we have created together and of the positive, inclusive community that continues to grow. As we wrap up for the summer, we're already looking forward to returning to training in September!

💙 New athletes and volunteers are always welcome to join us.

📣 We are also actively looking for an Athletics Coach to lead our 12–18-year-old group in track and field events. If you know someone with a passion for coaching and developing young athletes, please help us spread the word.

🎉 What a way to finish our very first year with West Cork Warriors! 🎉

On Saturday, we wrapped up an incredible first season with medals, celebrations, and a fantastic party. 🏅🎊

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this first year such a success – , our amazing volunteers, supportive parents, and of course our brilliant athletes. Your enthusiasm, commitment, and community spirit have made West Cork Warriors something truly special.
