Our U10 girls had an early start this morning when they travelled to play Truagh. We played a 14 aside game, which was going to be a great challenge for the team.

It was midway through the first half when the girls started to find their rhythm & eventually got to grips with the intensity of the game.

Positional changes by coach Stevie at half time resulted in some great passages of play & scores, bringing the girls right back into the game. By the final whistle both teams had served up a thrilling contest show casing skill, determination & teamwork.

A big thanks to Melissa & Danika for helping out.

A special mention to the Traugh Ladies Club who gave each of the Currin girls a treat bag at the end.

Well done girls and to all who came to support.

Seniors:

Championship Round 4:

On Saturday evening last at home, we came up against a very strong Drumhowan team and were badly beaten with final score of 1-14 to 5-20. This was a very disappointing performance from the lads across the pitch.

Early in the game we trailed by 0-2 to 1-3 but another goal by the visitors saw us go further behind. We rallied after and did play some nice football scoring a goal ourselves and points from play and frees and brought the score line back to 1-7 to 2-7. We scored a two pointer before the half time whistle, but the visitors scored three quick points prior to the half time whistle leaving score 1-9 to 2-10.

The second half resumed, and within two minutes the visitors had scored a point and two goals. Drumhowan pushed on then and never looked like taking the foot of the pedal and ran out worthy winners scoring three goals and ten points in the second half. This performance was even more disappointing from the lads, giving that just five weeks previously, we had brought the game to penalties after been level after extra time away in Drumhowan. The lads will regroup and try get back on track for the last game before quarter final stages.

A positive from the game was the return of Enda McCaffrey after a long layoff to competitive football.
We also send best wishes to Conor Smyth for a speedy recovery after picking up a serious injury.

Team & Subs:
Fergal Conolly, Danny McQuaid, Sean Brady, Sean McQuaid, Zach Rooney, Seamus Moane, Cian North, Killian Kierans, Paddy Moane, Kevin Murphy, Conor Smyth, Jason McKernan, Jack McQuaid, Ciaran McCaffrey, Tiarnan Kierans.

A big thank you to Aoife North for singing the National Anthem.

U14s:

Hard luck to our u14, s who put in a spirted performance last Saturday morning in Tyholland against Truagh but were narrowly defeated after extra time. The lads can be very proud of their achievements this year. Massive well done to all the team, subs and Management of Barry. Declan Jack and Jason.
