Sheane Formula Vee raced by Ronan Doherty of team ddr to Leinster Trophy victory in 2025.
This car needs little introduction, It holds the Toyo tyre lap record at Mondello international and has been under the Kirkistown lap record numerous times with Ronan at the wheel.
Freshly rebuilt Doherty engine and freshly rebuilt Alan Whitty gearbox. Car comes with data logger also. This car is ready to race with a top DDR racing setup. Ronan has said it's the best handling car he's ever driven. There are loads of cool features on this car like an opel lotus pedal box, momo steering wheel, bespoke gear linkage and cooling ducts. Damian has put lots of hours in dialling this car in.

🏁 WIN A FULLY FUNDED REAL-WORLD FORMULA VEE DRIVE!

Eligible drivers in the upcoming RTA Formula Vee Championship will have the chance to compete for a fully funded race weekend in a real Formula Vee car at either Kirkistown or Mondello Park, complete with driver coaching from a successful Formula Vee driver.

📝 SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

✅ Must be 16 years old or older by 31st December 2025
✅ Able to obtain a Motorsport Ireland National B license
✅ Must not have competed in more than two real-world races (junior series such as jnr minis & karts excluded)

🏆 THE SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE

After a season of on-track and off-track assessment, three drivers will be selected to take part in a fully funded Formula Vee race weekend each!
They’ll also receive free driver coaching from Leinster trophy winner Ronan Doherty Racing and professional guidance to kickstart their real-world motorsport journey.

Those who aren’t eligible for the scholarship but win the overall or B Series Championship will receive a free RTA season entry for the following race season! The overall championship is open to all! whether you meet the criteria for the scholarship or not.

We had a great weekend in Mondello for round 7 of the Selco.ie National Championship. Pole position and a lights to flag victory puts Gavin back on top of the league. Very positive weekend for Oliver Devilin who lowered his P.B laptime considerably.
I have had a very tough month, and I really need to thank some people.
Stephen and Christy Morrin from SM racing for looking after the lads at the last Mondello round. They were incredible and even dropped the car home for me.
Ivan Casey for running Gavin on the Saturday and doing my job of telling him he's sh*te.
Kevin and Phillip Sheane went above and beyond to get the car repaired on very short notice for the weekend just gone. The car was straight back on the money thanks to Kevin .
Thanks also to Alan Whitty for going out of his way to meet me with parts.
Kirkistown in 3 weeks, looking forward to it😁

Well that was pretty much as good as race weekends go!
2x Poles 2x wins 2x Fastest laps and the Toyo tyre lap record for Mondello National. And all I had to do was put petrol in😂 What a way to start the season! We might never have it as good again😂😂.
Thanks to Barry Cregg for the photos. Also a massive thanks to Andy Keogh from Tyredoctor.ie. Andy sponsors our B championship. I arrived on Friday morning with a flat tyre on the trailer. I came back Sunday morning the tyre was changed and on the trailer. Unbelievable!! And great value too! You can't beat that service.
