⛔️Area Eventing Schooling Advice ⛔️

To support Ash Hollow and give all our members the chance to familiarise themselves with the venue, we are allowing XC schooling & training up to and including the 21st June 23.59pm. The course is being built by Adam Stevenson, starting the week beginning Monday, 22nd June. It will run over at least 3 fields, including the field that the portable jumps are currently in, but they will not be sited in the same position for the Area Eventing Competition.

Anyone discovered to have been schooling at the venue after 23.59pm on 21st June 2026 will be eliminated from Area Eventing.

Please see page 6 of the Pony Club Eventing Rules 2026
"Riders or horses that have schooled over the Area or Championship
Cross Country course within the two weeks leading up to the
competition are not eligible to compete. However, competing on the
course does not affect a competitor's eligibility"

This exception is applicable in Area17 only in 2026 and should not be seen to set any precidents for 2027 Area Eventing.

A report from Killultagh Branch of The Pony Club

A massive congratulations to Killultagh’s Annabel McKeown, who has been crowned Junior International Tetrathlon champion in Moreton Morrell.
Competing against 90 of the best tetrathletes from across the UK and Ireland, Annabel shot, swam, rode and ran her way to victory in the blistering heat in Warwickshire.
Things didn’t quite go to plan at the start with a gun malfunction, meaning Annabel had to shoot with a gun she had never used before. Unsurprisingly, Annabel’s shoot score was her lowest ever recorded and all hopes of success vanished. A great swim saw Annabel climb up the leaderboard but the task to the top seemed impossible.
Next came the cross country. Moreton Morell is without question the most challenging course UK tetrathletes face. It is full sized but more than that, it is hugely technical, and the speed required is immense. Very few riders made it home clear inside the time. Annabel and Cola rode like their lives depended on it and flew around securing maximum points. Annabel was now up to 7th on the leaderboard.
The run was the final phase. Annabel’s strongest discipline. But again it seemed impossible to pull it off. Annabel needed to beat the leader by a massive 31 seconds to clench the win. Stopwatches at the ready Annabel took off, knowing what she needed to do. And somehow she did it, with two seconds to spare.
The ultimate comeback from this amazing tetrathlete.
Massive congratulations Annabel from in Area 17 NI 💚💚

Big congratulations go to all our intrepid competitors from NI / Area 17 you all ran, rode, shot and swam very well and did your branches proud!
