Winner Kayak Silk Roads Expedition



They began their legendary journey on the 29th of March last year, two strong willed Irish men peddled, walked and paddled the 15,900km of the old Silk Trading route from Istanbul to Shanghai. The Silk Road gets its name from the lucrative Chinese silk trade along it, which began during the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). The central Asian sections of the trade routes were expanded around 114 BC by the Han dynasty.
