Hospital Arts & Culture Festival:
This years festival runs from Wednesday, September 17 to Sunday, September 21.
(Day 1) Wednesday, September 17: From 7:30 PM in the Youthreach Centre: Join us for an unforgettable evening to kick off this year’s festival! Knight Award presented to Michael O’Sullivan for his inspiring community spirit and historical work. Poetry & Photography Arts Award and Delicious finger food & light refreshments.
Live Music by J.J. & Art at the Youthreach Centre from 7.30pm.
Competition: Photography Competition Hospital Arts Festival 2025. Open to all ages. U16 competition. Over 16 upwards competition. Submit to Hospital Arts and Culture page as a JPG file. Camera or phone entries in by Friday, September 12. Prizes for best entries-Judged by Mr Frank Williams. Winners annonunced Wednesday, September 17 at the Youthreach centre at 7.30pm.
(Day 2) Thursday, September 18: Tastes of food from around the world. National Dishes from countries represented in our parish. Bring your own dish. Judge is Conal Kelly of Bulgaden Castle. With Music food and wine tasting. Christina Hardy talking about her book.
Trad night and pop up Gaeltacht in Carmody's Bar.
(Day 3) Friday, September 19: Art workshop with Orla Hickey: in the Youthreach Centre from 6.30pm for bookings email: orlahickeydesigns.ie
Hard Knox Pro Wrestling: In the Community Hall, Hospital Doors open at 7pm. Show starts at 7.30pm. Admission €15.
The band Eire Ceol will be in Devane's Bar from 9.30pm.
(Day 4) Saturday, September 20: Kilfrush Crusader AFC under 11 Seamus O'Toole memorial tournament takes place at 10am in John the baptist Community School.
Craic at the Bistro Cafe: from 11-12.30pm featuring Sheila Fitzpatrick, Jonanie Brown, Kevin Sheehy & Friends.
Kitchen and Garden Swapshop: takes place in the Youthreach Centre from 1pm to 2pm. No money required - just swap.
Kids Disco: In the Community Hall, Hospital from 5pm-6pm Ages: 5-8yr olds. 6.30pm-7.30pm Ages: 9-12yr olds. Parents in attendance please €5 entry.
Window Art Exhibition: Dress up your Windows and Shop Windows. All will be adjudicated on the day.
The band Nightfall will be in O'Neill's Bar from 9.30pm.
(Day 5) Sunday, September 21: Childrens Market: in the Community Hall from 10am -2pm. BBQ Outside the hall.
Theatre in a Tent: from 1-3pm. Local drama group do battle for best short sketch / actor / actress. (Adjacent to Community hall)
Afternoon Tea Dance: Young at Heart with Dee Morrissey & Colin Kennedy. Finger food and light refreshments in the Community Hall from 3pm-5pm. Raffle on the day.
Lantern Parade: From the Youthreach Centre to GAA Grounds at 8pm.
The band Ember will be in The Creamery Bar from 6pm to 8pm.
