A standout performance came from Mark McGinley, who secured an outstanding 2nd place overall in a time of 1:30:49, finishing just 7 seconds behind the winner. Mark exited the water in 20:54, completed the bike in 30:26, and rounded off his race with a 34:39 run. Mark put in a serious shift from start to finish and may have been slightly hampered by the bike leg being cut in half due to unforeseen circumstances. Nevertheless, it was an exceptional performance and a well-deserved podium finish.
Barry McEleneny continued his return from injury with a strong race, crossing the line in 1:48:35. Barry posted a 26:00 swim, 34:35 bike, and 41:21 run, showing great determination and form as he continues to build back to full fitness.
