What would the GAA do if all women stepped down from their roles. We are good enough to coach teams, wash jerseys,be on club committees, fundraise, along with everything else that our male counterparts do. Include them at the top level with decision making!!!Women's roles in the GAA are equally as important as Men's!!!!!!

“I suspect that there are people who are not entirely happy about the idea of including women in decision-making at the top level of Gaelic sports.”

Mary McAleese has stepped down as chair of the steering group overseeing the integration of the GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association.

McAleese said the GAA had “blocked our progress”, “blocked our plan” and had “no other plan currently”, after the association told the steering group it could no longer commit to the agreed timeline for integration.

The three associations had been working towards one governing structure, with one membership and one association from April 2027.

The GPA has since said the mandate for integration remains overwhelming, citing the 89.8% support at GAA Congress, 97% support from inter-county players, and a 2023 survey of more than 30,000 members in which nine out of 10 believed integration would be positive for Gaelic games.

The players’ body is now seeking clarity on what has changed, how the decision was reached, and what pathway now replaces the agreed roadmap.

Emeralds Camogie Club would like to extend our deepest sympathies to John and all the Minogue family on the very sad passing of Sheila (née Norton) Barna,Woodsgift, Kilkenny/Tipperary. Paul and Caroline have generously sponsored a number of our teams over the years, while Ella, Aobha and Laura are current camogie players with the club. Our thoughts and prayers are with all Sheila's family and friends at this very sad time.

A busy morning for our u8s and U13s. The u8s enjoyed their Blitz in the field where they welcomed Dicksboro, Conahy Shamrocks and St.Brigid's for a mornings camogie with all teams showing great skill and workrate. Well done.🟩⬜️

The U13s took part in the Trish Maher Memorial Tournament in Tullaroan. The girls reached the shield semi-final but unfortunately lost out to Thomastown. Thanks to Tullaroan for a great morning with plenty of treats after their games. Well done girls 🟩 ⬜️
