Afternoon all last Friday and Saturday the 4th and 5th of September the long bar golf society traveled to the dolmen hotel in carlow for it's captain James denehan weekend away, with golf in gowan Park golf club on the Saturday. They society would like to thank James for putting on a brilliant weekend,a lot of hard work goes on behind the seens in organizing the weekend also for all the work James put in during his year as captain with a great captains day in edenderry golf club and do your year is not over just yet from all your friends in the society thanks James for a great year. As usual there was a few glasses of orange drank on the Friday night in perpetration for golf on the Saturday morning, the society would like to thank Gowan Park golf course grounds staff and bar staff who looked after everyone so well. There was great golf played with the following results in first place Elaine Daniels

Well done to all the winners, also on the Saturday night was the presitation of his jacket to our incoming captain Jonathan Maloney we wish Jonathan all the best for his coming year also Jonathan brought in his vice captain Richard Maloney. Can I just mention our mc for the night our hard working chairman Tony mccreanor thanks Tony for all you do for the society also on the night our club person of the year was picked this year it was tom norris well done tom well deserved and now to the big one our golfer of the year for 2026 was Darren dunne a great achievement for Darren who joined the society 3 years ago played great consistent golf during the year well done Darren and well deserved also like to thank the dolmen hotel for looking after everyone over the weekend and once again thanks to our captain James denehan for a great year and a brilliant weekend away. And thanks for everyone who supported James on his weekend away as once again this is one of if not the best society in Ireland you should be proud of yourself James from all your friends in the long bar golf society thanks ⛳🏌️🏌🏾‍♂️⛳

As our 2026 captains weekend away is just over a week away on behalf of the long bar golf society would like to wish our captain James denehan all the best for his weekend away, this is always a great social event for the society and would like to thank James for all the hard work he has put into organizing the weekend away a lot of work goes on behind the seens in getting everything done you are nearly there James thanks from all your friends in the long bar golf society looking forward to seeing everyone for what will be a great weekend stay safe everyone 🏌️🏌🏾‍♂️⛳⛳

Next Saturday the 22nd of August the long bar golf society will hold its annual draw in logans bar edenderry at 9:00 this is always a great night so everyone is invited. We would like to thank everyone who bought a line for the draw and especially our sponsors for the draw there support is greatly appreciated so if you are free drop into logans bar Saturday night. For anyone who has not yet returned there cards could please do so as soon as possible or on the night best of luck to everyone

Afternoon all. Yesterday Saturday the 8th of August the long bar golf society was in portarlington golf club for its deceased members outing. There was a great turn out on the day,this outing was sponsored by ger Hall the society would like to thank ger Hall for his continued support. It was not just the weather that was great but the golf played match the weather in first place with a brilliant score of 43 points was Owen dollard in 2nd was John spollen with 42 points 3rd was Ken guildfoyle with 38 points 4th was Paul Dalton with 37 points, front 9 was calm colgan with 21 points back 9 was Tony mc creanor with 20 points, longest drive was John spollen, nearest to the pin was Ken guildfoyle, bonus number was John spollen. Also congratulations to Cyril nutterfield who had a hole in one on the 11th hole well done Cyril. We would like to thank portarlington groundstaff who had the course in brilliant condition also the bar and restaurant staff who looked after everyone so well also the lads for doing the table. Once again we'll done to all the winners a special congratulations to Owen dollard who joined this year with his first overall win well done Owen ⛳🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️⛳

Afternoon everyone next Saturday the 8th of August the long bar golf society will travel to portarlington golf club for its deceased members outing, tee time is 10:00 green fees are 30 euro or 35 euro for the bonus number and 2s club.this outing is sponsored by ger Hall the society would like to thank ger Hall for his continued support for the society.
