Afternoon hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine. Yesterday Saturday the 13th of June the long bar golf society arrived in edenderry golf club for its 1st major of the year, or captain James denehan captains day. The weather was absolutely amazing for what is always a great day for the society. The society would like to thank our captain James for putting on a brilliant day with beautiful prizes aswell, a lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes organising everything for his day well done James. It wasn't just the weather that was great the scores on the day were brilliant which shows how the society is always improving. First place was won by Fran Burke with a brilliant score of 37 points closely followed 2nd Darren nutterfield with 37 points 3rd place was barney Daniels with 36 points also closely followed in 4th place Darren Dunne with 36 points front 9 colm colgan 19 points back 9 Richard cusack 20 points past captains was won by the one and only Sean cooney with 34 points longest drive was Elaine Daniels visitors 1st was darragh farell with 28 points 2nd was Dylan Murphy with 26 points 2s club was barney Daniels bonus ball winner was Willie Ryan well done to all the winners brilliant golf with just one point between the first 4 places. We would like to thank edenderry greenstuff who had the course in brilliant condition also the restaurant and bar staff who looked after everyone so. We had over 40 players on the day to support James hope you all enjoyed the day. We would like to thank Sean, Ken and Cyril for looking after the table also the ladies and gents who helped on the 9th with the burgers and refreshments and anyone who helped on the day. Thanks James for a brilliant day you should be proud of yourself roll on the weekend away stay safe everyone ⛳🏌️🏌️⛳

For this year's captains weekend away the long bar golf society will travel with our captain James denehan to Woodford dolman hotel in carlow for what is always a great social weekend for the society. We would like to thank James for all the hard work that goes into organising everything for his weekend. Room rates for the weekend are as single room is 297 euros
Double/twin is 356 euros price includes breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and your dinner on Saturday night. Add on; child under 4 for 2 nights plus dinner on Saturday is 17 euros, child between 4 to 16 is 57 euros includes Saturday night dinner. Golf on the Saturday is 35 euros tee off 11:00 . Golf will be played in gowan Park golf course if you would like to book a room a deposit of 100 euros is required this can be put in a envelope with your name and what type of room you require, this can be paid to our Treasurer Jonathan maloney or Tom norris or any committee member. Afternoon hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, it's that time of the year for our first major of the 2026 season, which is our captain James denehan captains day, which will be held on Saturday the 13th of June in edenderry golf club tee time is 10:30 .the society would like to wish James all the best for his big day and any help he might need the committee will be there to help in anyway posable, greenfees on the day are 30 euros or 35 euros for the bonus ball and 2s club visitors are welcome on the day also could I ask any past captains or past presidents could they bring there jackets for a photo thanks everyone. Afternoon everyone hope all are well, yesterday Saturday the 16th of may the long bar golf society traveled to moath golf club for its 3rd outing of the year, this outing was sponsored by edenderry credit union the society would like to thank the credit union for their continued support. There was a great turn out on the day with once again great golf played on the day with paddy Phillips taking first place with a great score of 34 points 2nd place was bill dorton with 33 points 3rd place was Darren Dunne with 33 points front 9 was fran Burke with 17 points back 9 was wes cashin with 20 points the visitors winner was Owen dollard with 30 points there was no 2s winner bonus ball winner ger dalton. Well done to all the winners, the society would like to thank the groundstaff of moath for having the course in great condition also the restaurant and bar staff who looked after everyone so well, also tony McCreanor and Tom norris for doing the table and anyone who helped on the day stay safe everyone ⛳🏌️🏌️⛳
