*Kilcornan to Mark 40th Anniversary of World’s Longest-Ever Gaelic Football Game!*
Kilcornan will host a community celebration on Friday, 22nd May from 5pm to mark the 40th anniversary of the world’s longest-ever game of Gaelic football, a remarkable sporting milestone with deep local significance.
The event will take place at Kilcornan Community Centre and will bring together residents and friends from Kilcornan, Askeaton, Ballysteen, and surrounding areas. Attendees can look forward to an evening of food, refreshments, and entertainment.
We are pleased to confirm that RTÉ’s Nationwide will be filming at the event, capturing this unique anniversary and its community spirit.
The occasion will also be attended by special guest Jarlath Burns, 41st President of the GAA, adding further importance to this commemoration.
This event provides an opportunity to reflect on a historic moment in Gaelic games while celebrating the enduring pride and connection of the local community.
