🌊 Swim Ireland 5 day Intensive Open Water Swim Camp - Sept 7th -11th 2026

Join the Swim Ireland Open Water Swim Camp at Crabpool Beach, Salthill from 7-11 September.
Whether you're new to open water swimming or looking to improve your skills, this 5-day intensive camp will help you build confidence, develop technique, and enjoy swimming safely in the great outdoors.

✅ Qualified Swim Ireland coaches & lifeguards
✅ Children's, beginner and advanced sessions available
✅ Safe, supportive and fun learning environment
✅ Only €50 + booking fee

📅 Monday 7 September - Friday 11 September
📍 Crabpool Beach, Salthill

Session Times: 🏊 5:00pm – Children's Programme
🏊 5:45pm – Levels 1 & 2 (Beginners to swimmers who can swim 25m and float on their back)
🏊 6:30pm – Levels 3 & 4 (Confident swimmers able to tread water and swim 100m unaided, through to strong junior and adult swimmers)

Team South Galway athletes and swimmers will be back in action on Wednesday September 9th for another season. Swimming from 19:15 and bocce from 20:00.

There may be some capacity in the club to take on athletes for bocce and swimmers. Please register interest by emailing [email protected] outlining the skills and competencies of the athlete.

Watersports Inclusion Games is a free, multi-watersport event welcoming people of all abilities and disabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory can try an exciting range of activities including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, powerboating, dragon boating, snorkelling, windsurfing and more. No experience is necessary, and all activities, equipment and support are provided.

Galway is set to become a hub of fun, adventure and inclusion this weekend as the Watersports Inclusion Games return on 11th & 12th July, from 9:00am – 5:00pm each day.

Irish Sailing are coordinating this fantastic FREE event, which welcomes people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to experience the joy of being on the water in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

Hosted by Galway Ho**er Sailing Club, Galway Sea Scouts, Galway City Sailing Club and Galway Bay Sailing Club, participants can enjoy a wide range of exciting activities including:

🌊 Stand Up Paddleboarding

Our club members had incredible performances at the recent Ireland Summer Games.

Our individual swimmers picked up a gold (100m backstroke), bronze (50m backstroke), 4th (50m freestyle), 5th (50m freestyle), 6th (25m freestyle, 100m freestyle) while three guys were part of a relay quartet bagged an impressive silver in the 4x50m freestyle relay team. The swimmers had seasonal bests in their favourite strokes bringing just rewards for their hard work and determination.

Meanwhile the medal haul from the bocce courts in the National Indoor Arena was equally impressive with our club athletes bringing home two silver, three bronze, five 4th place ribbons and two 5th place ribbons.

Congratulations to two of our swimmers who excelled on the track and basketball court bringing home a gold and silver respectively. One of our bocce athletes was successful in the bowling alley bagging a silver and bronze.

A huge well done to all the athletes who inspired us, and to our volunteers whose work as coaches, chaperones, competition managers, officials and sports assistants all helped make the Games so special.

We also wish to acknowledge the generous financial support we received from our friends and supporters to help us prepare for games in the best manner possible.

Team South Galway concluded its season with a celebration BBQ in the walled garden in Kilcornan, Clarenbridge. The athletes showed off their athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling and swimming medals from the summer games.

Thanks to Corlann for the use of the lovely walled garden.

We will be back in action in mid September and hope all our friends and supporters enjoy the summer in the meantime.
