🏀 Another fantastic Kingdom Basketball Draft in the books!

Our second Draft event took place in Tralee this evening and what a brilliant night it was.

Five teams battled it out in a league of fast paced games, producing an excellent standard of basketball from start to finish. The hall was certainly warm, but that didn't stop the players from bringing incredible energy, effort and skill to every game. It was fantastic to see so many players back on court, competing hard, supporting one another and enjoying the game.

A huge congratulations to tonight's award winners:

A massive thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. Special thanks to Dave for all his help once again, to Cumann Iosef for the venue, and to all the parents for bringing the players along and supporting the event.

Kingdom Basketball Summer Draft tips off.

What a night for Kingdom Basketball The opening Draft Event lit up the new Nagle Rice Community Centre on Wednesday, delivering a fantastic evening of fast-paced action, fierce competition, and brilliant basketball from start to finish.

Ten thrilling games kept everyone entertained as teams battled through the group stages and into the knockout rounds. The standard was outstanding throughout, with every team leaving it all on the court.

The Warriors stormed through the group stages unbeaten to book their place in the final, but it was the Celtics who rose to the occasion when it mattered most, producing a superb championship performance to be crowned the first-ever Kingdom Basketball Draft winners.

In the third-place playoff, the Knicks pulled off an impressive upset, finishing strongly to edge out the Lakers and secure the bronze medal.

Skills Competition Champions

Huge congratulations to Tommy Ó Súilleabháin and Laura Reddington on winning the Skills Competition.

Both players have recently had the honour of representing Ireland, making their success on the night even more special. A fantastic achievement and a brilliant showcase of talent from both Tommy and Laura.

The first event of The Draft 2026 takes place on Wednesday 8th July.

Golden Ticket invitations have now been sent out, so please check your inbox if you registered your interest.

This is an invite-only event, with places limited to 30 players. Once the event reaches capacity, registration for this event will close and a waiting list will be created.

🇮🇪 Well done to Laura Reddington (St Bridgets Currow) on proudly representing Ireland with the U14 Girls in Wales this weekend.

Laura and the Ireland squad played against Wales, Scotland and England, gaining brilliant international experience across a great weekend of basketball.

The final game against England was especially exciting, with Ireland staying close throughout before a strong England side pulled away late in the game.

A fantastic achievement for Laura, her family, coaches and club. Well done, Laura! 💚☘️🏀

🇮🇪 Well done to Olly O'Shea (St Mary's Castleisland) on representing Ireland with the U15 Men's squad at the Ireland Academy International Tournament in Dublin this weekend.

Olly and the team took part in a great weekend of basketball, facing the Ireland U16 Development Squad, England and Slovakia.

A fantastic achievement and brilliant experience for Olly, his family, coaches and club. Well done, Olly! 💚☘️🏀

🇮🇪 Congratulations to Soloman Abubakar (St Brendan's Tralee) and Tommy Ó Súilleabháin (Cumann Cispheile Chorca Dhuibhne) on proudly representing Ireland at the U14 Four Nations Tournament in Wales this weekend.

The pair helped Ireland to an excellent two wins from three games, recording victories over Wales and Scotland. Their only defeat came against a very strong England side.

A fantastic achievement for both players and a credit to their families, coaches and clubs. We look forward to watching their continued development in the green jersey. 💚☘️
