Gorey AC Club Notes (22/06/26) 📰

It was a weekend to remember for members young and older! 💙

On the Senior side, we had three runners take on the Viking Series in Waterford on Sunday. 🏅

A huge congratulations to Ian O'Neill who ran his first ever marathon in a brilliant time of 3:52! 🔥

Rebecca Roberts ran the half marathon in 2:04:16. 👏

Yessyka Bergin ran the 10K in 1:20:43. 👏

On the Juvenile front, lots of Gorey AC athletes represented their respective areas at Community Games over the weekend which is brilliant to see. 💙

Before the day is out, we just wanted to wish all the dads in our Gorey AC family a very Happy Father’s Day.

The runners.
The coaches.
The volunteers.
The taxi drivers.
The sideline cheerleaders.
The ones tying laces, carrying bags, giving hugs, and keeping kids believing in themselves.

To those doing the job of dads every day, and to those remembering the dads who are no longer with us, we’re thinking of you too.

You are all a huge part of what makes this club special.

Gorey AC Club Notes (17th June, 2026) 📰

On Friday, three of our senior runners, Lindsay Wallace, Lyn D'Arcy and John Tyrrell travelled Raven Wood to run the 8KM Trail Run as part of Slaney Olympic AC's brilliant Summer League. 🏞

Well done to our Juvenile Members Tiernan and Saoirse who took on Arklow Duck Pond Junior Parkrun on Sunday. 🦆

Also on Sunday, Eoin Kirwan ran the Castleknock 5K in Dublin. 🏅

We had a big group on Friday for Bear's S&C Training in the town. See you again this Friday evening. 💪

Training continues for all groups this evening.

Gorey AC Club Notes (9th June, 2026)

The club was well represented at the Mr Oil Wexford Senior Road Championships in Ferns on Friday night. 🏆

The Women's 5K was first and we had a host of PBs from our runners. Well done to Ciara Wilson from D.M.P who took the title. 👏

In the Men's 10K, a big well done to Brendan Dunne who came 2nd behind Adam O'Connor from United Striders. 👏

Gorey AC Weekly Notes (3rd June, 2026) 📰

It was brilliant to see so many of our members take on the VHI Women's Mini Marathon on Sunday. One of the best days on the Irish athletics calendar, we had a number of PBs and first-timers hit the roads in Dublin. 💜

On Saturday evening we had Martha Kehoe and John Walsh complete the 10K at Johnstown Castle, part of the Wexford Running Festival.

On Bank Holiday Monday, a number of our Juveniles represented the club proudly at the Ballon-Rathoe AC Open Sports 2026. 💙

Today is the day!

A huge best of luck to all of our members taking part in the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin today.

From Couch to 5K graduates and Fit4Life members to experienced runners, every one of you has put in the work, shown the commitment, and earned your place on that start line.

Today is about so much more than the finish time. It’s about confidence, friendship, determination, and celebrating everything that running can bring into our lives.

Enjoy every mile.
Soak up the atmosphere.
Take plenty of photos.
And most importantly, be proud of yourselves.
