This year's event will take place at 7:30pm on Tuesday the 6th of September. The course has been officially measured by Athletics Ireland's, John Cannon and is part of the Donegal Athletic Board Grand Prix. Growing steadily in popularity, 2022 promises to be the biggest and best yet. The event was renamed in 2011 and The McGuinness family from Ard Patrick in Glenties are delighted that Charles, th

eir son and brother will be remembered in this way every year. It is a small tribute to a young man taken from this life in 1985 at the age of just 16, a young man whose athletic fervour for football, cycling and running to name just a few sports has left memories that will continue to inspire those who remember. Indeed when Charles last ran the original race in the 80's he came home first with brother, Jim in second. It's just our way of saluting someone who was even crazier about physical fitness and competition than we are. Join us for post-race refreshments and the awards ceremony. Attached are this year's results.
Thanks so much to everyone who helped out. Everyone including the ever dependable registration team; the catering team; all the race stewards out on the roads; North West Chip Timing; Joginder and Roisin in Nearby - great neighbours; The Glenties Harvest Fair Committee; Glenties Comprehensive School; Tir Chonaill AC - Glenties; Glenties Community Centre and finally a very special thank you to the McGuiness family for their continued support down the years and the hot food at the afters. I hope everyone enjoyed the race and the craic at the afters! See you all next year!

Registration opens at 6:30pm in the Comp Gym. It's going to be a lovely dry evening so, come on down and join in the fun!

The 17th annual Charles McGuiness 5k race is all set for Tuesday the 9th of September at 7:30pm. Registration in The Comp Gym from 6:30pm. Refreshments, awards and perpetual cup presentation afterwards. We're hoping to see record numbers of runners and walkers this year!
