Uachtarán na hÉireann, Catherine Connolly, being presented with a framed 40th Medtronic Streets of Galway T-shirt, this year's commemorative medal and, as Ireland's first citizen, a fitting race bib #1.
Making the presentation on behalf of Galway City Harriers are Board Chair, Seamus Lynch and Race Director, Brian Bruton.
President Connolly last ran the Streets of Galway 8k race in 1995, famously completing the course while five months pregnant with her son, Brian. The Club were honoured to have her officially start the 40th edition of this landmark Galway event.
