Connacht Senior Cup Final 🏑

Last game of the season and a proper way to finish it, a cup final with everything on the line. A lot of work has gone in all year to get here, and now it all comes down to one last performance together.

It’s been a full squad effort from start to finish, and whatever happens at 4PM, we’ve already built something to be proud of this season.

A big thank you to everyone who has been part of the season and supported us along the way:
🤝 All the umpires who’ve overseen our games

💚Hockey Ireland and Connacht Hockey for their organisation and structure throughout the year

🌺 The University of Galway for their continued support

🫶Our coach, Damien Kelly and manager John Folan for the time and effort behind the scenes they’ve put in

🏋️Our S&C coach Sean Murphy , for putting up with us all season and always pushing us to be our best selves

💞 And of course our amazing volunteers who keep everything running week in and week out, we couldn’t do it without ye !

We’d really appreciate any support down at 4PM for the final, it means a lot to the squad !!

Finally, a massive thank you to every single player in the squad for their commitment all season, for showing up, putting in the work at training, supporting each other, and sticking together through every challenge and every result along the way. It’s been a full group effort from the very start.

We’ve achieved so much this season, from strong performances, big wins, and tough battles, to growing as a group and stepping up in key moments when it mattered most. Every player has contributed to that in their own way, and it’s something to be really proud of.

This weekend marks a goodbye for now , not a goodbye forever, just the end of this chapter together.

Connacht Challenge Cup Finalists 🙌

Kinvara 1 – Renmore 0

Kinvara edged a strong Renmore side in a fast, end‑to‑end semi‑final featuring excellent hockey from both young squads.

The breakthrough came in the second quarter after a slick team move, calmly finished by Aoife Frehill.
Renmore pushed hard late on, but Kinvara’s defence stayed composed and Abbie produced two important saves to protect the lead. The midfield worked tirelessly, and the forwards pressed relentlessly, unlucky not to add a second goal.

Special mention to Lucy McMahon, who made her senior debut this evening.

Thanks also to Coach Ailbhe Folan, who guided the team superbly after herself scoring the winner in the preceding game for UOG1 in the EY League.

Kinvara now advance to the final of the Connacht Challenge Cup next weekend.
