JAZZ SETTERS – Bringing Volleyball to Ballydehob! 🎷

One of our goals at West Cork Volleyball CLG is to make volleyball accessible to more young people across West Cork — not just in the areas where the sport is already growing.

We wanted to bring something to the Ballydehob, Schull, Goleen and greater Skibbereen area, giving children and teenagers on this side of West Cork the chance to discover volleyball too.

That’s why we created Jazz Setters Ballydehob! 💚

This 6-week introductory programme is also a chance for us to see how much interest there is locally. If the community gets behind it and enough young people want to continue, we hope this can be the beginning of something more permanent in Ballydehob.

📅 Starting 14th September
🏐 Mondays – U13s | 4:00–5:30pm
🏐 Wednesdays – U18s | 4:00–5:30pm
📍 Ballydehob Community Hall

No previous volleyball experience is needed. Come along, learn the game, build confidence, make new friends and help us see how far volleyball can grow in this part of West Cork.

The sun was shining, the grass was dry, and the volleyball was even better. ☀️🏐

A great day with good games, lots of laughs, and our volleyball community coming together to enjoy the sport. Days like this remind us that volleyball is about more than competition—it’s about friendship, teamwork, and making memories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can’t wait for the next one!

Our first Grass Volleyball Tournament was a great success!

Congratulations to all our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in both the Youth and Adult competitions. More importantly, thank you to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable day.

We were fortunate to spend the day at the Dunmanway Rugby Pitch, which was a fantastic venue with plenty of space for everyone to play, relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

One of the best parts of the day was seeing our volleyball community continue to grow. It was wonderful to see so many parents getting involved, helping throughout the day and cheering everyone on. On behalf of West Cork Volleyball Club, thank you to every parent who gave their time. We simply could not have run this event without your support.

A special thank you also to Arnolda from Volleyball Ireland for all your support, encouragement and guidance. We are very grateful for everything you do to help volleyball continue to grow.

Here’s to many more grass tournaments and more great days together as a club! 🏐💚

Everyone sees the matches, but some of the best memories happened in between. 🇵🇹🏐☀️

Portugal was intense from start to finish. We kicked things off with **3 matches on day one**, then **2 matches a day** until the final day, where we had just **one last game**.

With a schedule like that, every bit of downtime counted. Whether it was relaxing on the beach, enjoying the tournament parties, or just spending time together as a team, there was always something to do before it was time to compete again.

Those moments away from the court are just as much a part of the experience as the volleyball itself.

What an unforgettable experience in Portugal! 🇵🇹🏐

Our club was incredibly proud to bring a team of 11 amazing girls to compete at the AMB Youth Volleyball Tournament in Espinho, representing not only our club but also our country.

While we didn’t bring a medal home, we came back with something just as valuable—experience, unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a renewed hunger to improve. This tournament challenged us, pushed us outside our comfort zone, and showed us the level we can aspire to.

As a coach, I couldn’t be prouder of these girls. They gave everything they had, supported one another through every match, and represented our club with heart, determination, and sportsmanship. They have set the standard and opened the door for more teams from our club to experience opportunities like this in the future.

A huge thank you to our amazing mums who travelled with us and helped make the trip such a success, and to everyone who supported us from home. It truly was a team effort.

Now it’s time to take everything we’ve learned, lock in for the season ahead, and keep growing. This is only the beginning.

Thank you, Espinho and AMB, for an incredible tournament. We’ll be back stronger. 💙🏐

Tomorrow this time we will be there!

𝗔 𝟭𝟯.ª 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗰̧𝗮̃𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗔𝗠𝗕 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮 𝗷𝗮́ 𝗻𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝟯!

Está a ficar tudo pronto para o arranque do AMB Volleyball Cup 2026 e para recebermos cerca de 7 mil participantes entre os dias 3 e 8 de junho.

O evento, que terá a sua maior atividade na Nave Desportiva Polivalente de Espinho, vai encher novamente de cor a animação as ruas da cidade de Espinho, com muita juventude.

Além de Espinho, também Vila Nova de Gaia e Santa Maria da Feira acolherão os jogos deste que é considerado um dos maiores torneios de voleibol juvenil no mundo.

A edição deste ano é uma organização conjunta da Academia Maia Brenha e da Câmara Municipal de Espinho, contanto com o apoio da Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Gaia e de Santa Maria da Feira.

🇵🇹 Portugal... here we come!

In just 2 days, our West Cork Volleyball team will begin an unforgettable journey to Portugal for a week full of excitement, learning, and new experiences.

This is a great opportunity for all of them to grow — not only as volleyball players, but also as young people.

They will compete against teams from different countries, experience a new culture, build confidence, and learn more about teamwork, resilience, and commitment.

This trip is about much more than volleyball. It is about representing our club, our families, and our West Cork community with pride.

We are so proud of the hard work they have put in, and we are thankful to every parent, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who helped make this possible.

Please keep the team in your thoughts as they head off on this special adventure.
