Congratulations to our Leaving Certificate Applied students who recently enjoyed a Credit Presentation Ceremony with their class groups, Programmes Coordinator and Year Head.

Each student was presented with a certificate recognising their hard work and achievements to date in the programme. The occasion was celebrated with refreshments and music, making it a special opportunity to acknowledge their dedication and progress.

Well done to LCA 1 and LCA 2 on all your hard work this year. Keep up the fantastic effort, we are very proud of all that you have achieved so far! 👏

A huge congratulations to our 6th Year student, Sohaib, who proudly represented Ireland at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Bench Press Championships in Warsaw, Poland, on 26th May.

Competing against some of the strongest athletes from around the globe, Sohaib achieved an incredible 11th-place finish out of 16 countries, officially making him the 11th strongest bench presser in the world in his category this year. 🇮🇪💪

This remarkable achievement is a testament to Sohaib’s dedication, discipline and hard work both inside and outside the gym. We are also delighted to share that he has been invited to represent Ireland once again at the European Bench Press Championships in Lithuania this August, another fantastic opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Everyone in the Coláiste Chú Chulainn school community is incredibly proud of Sohaib and all that he has accomplished. We wish him every success as he continues his journey on the international stage.

Best of luck to all our 6th Year and 3rd Year students as they begin their State Examinations tomorrow!

You have worked hard, shown dedication and overcome many challenges to reach this point. Now is the time to believe in yourselves and trust in the preparation you have done.

A few reminders as you head into the exams:
✅ Get a good night’s sleep.
✅ Eat a healthy breakfast.
✅ Arrive early and prepared.
✅ Read each question carefully.
✅ Manage your time wisely.
✅ Stay calm and do your best.

Remember, these exams are just one part of your journey. Focus on giving your best effort, one exam at a time. Be proud of how far you have come and have confidence in your abilities.

Our Transition Year students recently enjoyed a fantastic End of Year hike up Slieve Gullion.

The heatwave certainly didn’t hold them back as they took to the hills of South Armagh, getting plenty of exercise while taking in the breathtaking views along the way.

A fabulous day was had by all, with students, their Treoraí Folláine and the TY Co-ordinator enjoying a well-deserved adventure together to round off a successful year.

Congratulations to 5th Year student Cara M. on another fantastic performance at the Irish Schools Athletics Track & Field Championships!

Representing Coláiste Chú Chulainn with pride, Cara secured an impressive 8th place finish in the Senior Girls Triple Jump.

Qualifying for these prestigious Championships was a tremendous achievement in itself, but to compete in the Senior Girls category as the youngest athlete in the field makes her accomplishment even more remarkable. To compete against the country’s top athletes and secure a top-eight finish at this level is a testament to Cara’s hard work, dedication and talent.

The whole school community and Redeemer AC is incredibly proud of your achievements and the way you represented both your school and club.

Well done to our LCA2 student, Kaylem K, on his outstanding work in partnership with An Garda Síochána in developing a drug awareness presentation for young people.

Today, Kaylem joined Garda Paul Bourke to deliver the presentation to our 1st Year students, highlighting the dangers of drugs, the different forms they can take and the risks associated with their use.

A special credit goes to Kaylem for adapting the presentation to ensure that the information was age-appropriate, engaging and accessible for a younger audience. His dedication, leadership and commitment to promoting positive choices among his peers is something to be proud of.

Today some of our students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Castletown Girls’ National School as part of our School of Sanctuary journey.

During the visit, the students of Castletown Girls’ National School delivered an insightful presentation, sharing their School of Sanctuary journey and the steps they took to achieve this important recognition. Their experiences, ideas and advice provided our students with valuable inspiration and practical guidance as we continue our own journey towards becoming a School of Sanctuary.

A highlight of the day was the paired reading session, where students from both schools came together to share stories, build connections and enjoy the joy of reading.

A huge thank you to Castletown Girls’ National School for warmly welcoming us, facilitating such a meaningful visit and generously sharing their experiences and great ideas. We look forward to putting these lessons into practice as we continue our School of Sanctuary journey.

As part of last week’s Cultural Week, we held a Cultural Dress Day. It was wonderful to see so many students proudly representing their diverse backgrounds and cultures through traditional dress.

The school was filled with colour, creativity and cultural pride as students shared and celebrated their heritage with one another. As part of the day, we were also treated to a range of cultural performances by our students, showcasing music, dance and traditions from around the world. These performances were enjoyed by all and added to the vibrant atmosphere of the celebration.

Events like these help foster inclusion, understanding and respect for the rich diversity within our school community.

Thank you to all the students and families who participated and helped make the day such a memorable celebration of culture and identity.

As part of last week’s Cultural Week celebrations, classroom doors across our school were transformed into vibrant displays representing countries from around the world!

Students and staff worked together to decorate classroom doors with national colours, fascinating facts, cultural traditions, landmarks and stories that showcase the richness and diversity of different countries. Walking through the school became a journey around the globe, sparking curiosity, conversations and a deeper appreciation for the many cultures represented in our school and beyond.

A huge well done to everyone who contributed their creativity, research and enthusiasm to this wonderful initiative. The colourful displays brought our hallways to life and reminded us of the value of celebrating diversity within our school community.

We had a wonderful evening celebrating our incredible 6th Year Class of 2026 at their Graduation Ceremony.

It was a truly memorable occasion filled with laughter, reflection, pride and celebration as we recognised the achievements and journey of this outstanding group of students. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished and the positive impact they have made throughout their time with us.

A special word of thanks to their dedicated Year Head, Bn. Uí Riodal, for her guidance, support and care throughout their journey in CCC to graduation.

We wish the Class of 2026 every success and happiness in the future as they begin their next chapter. Best of luck also with your upcoming exams, we know you will do yourselves proud!
