🏇 Some battles are for the trophies… and some are for the bragging rights. 🏆🔥

There was plenty happening beyond the tournament grades at Silver Spurs 2026, and Saturday gave us some of our favourite moments of the weekend. ❤️

First up — the hotly anticipated WAGs v Parents Charity Match. 👀

The Parents put up a fight, but when the dust settled…

All rivalry aside, the match was played for a much bigger reason, raising funds in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and player development. ❤️

A massive thank you to Kim Ronan-Harris for organising, to everyone brave enough to take to the pitch, and to all those who loaned horses, umpired, manned the table, cheered from the sidelines and donated. It took a lot of people to make it happen and we’re hugely grateful to every one of you.

Our Lead Rein players also got their chance on the pitch — and safe to say, they may have stolen the show. ❤️

A huge well done to our littlest competitors, and thank you to the parents, helpers and horses who made sure they got their own taste of tournament weekend. We have a feeling there are a few future Silver Spurs battles brewing already… 👀🔥

We were also delighted to welcome Lassi, Liisa and Cecilia from Finland, who made the journey over to join us and play for the weekend. 🇫🇮🇮🇪

Thank you for travelling all that way to be part of Silver Spurs 2026 — it was brilliant to have you on the pitch and we hope you enjoyed the weekend (and the Irish craic!) as much as we enjoyed having you. ❤️

📍 THE BATTLEGROUND IS SET… HERE’S HOW TO FIND IT. 🗺️🏇

We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Silver Spurs 2026 this weekend! The teams are ready, the teams have been drawn and we can sense the competitive spirit… 🔥

Before the battle commences, a little housekeeping to make sure everyone (horses included) arrives safely and the weekend runs smoothly.

🚛 ACCESS TO PENNING
Please approach Barnaslingan Lane from the Enniskerry end. The turn into the field is not possible for lorries from the other direction. As you turn in please be mindful of a particularly unhelpful tree 🌳😅

📍 Entrance: 53°12’41.0”N 6°10’17.7”W

🐴 CHOOSE YOUR TERRITORY WISELY
When setting up camp, please keep all penning well clear of the entrance so trucks and trailers have plenty of room to get in and turn safely.

Please also leave plenty of space around the marquee. Your horses will thank you Sunday morning.

🚗 PARK IT & PREPARE FOR BATTLE
Spectator parking is marked on the map and we’d really appreciate everyone using it rather than the main yard. Our liveries still need access throughout the weekend.

No cars are to go to the pitch.

There’s access from the camping/penning area up through spectator parking and on to the pitch, so please use this route and keep foot traffic off Barnaslingan Lane wherever possible.

💧 HORSE WASHING
The main yard is not available to players for washing down. Water will be provided in the penning field, so bring your sponges! 🧽

🧹 LEAVE NO TRACE
Please pick your pens and bring your rubbish home. We’re very lucky to have the use of the land and want to leave it exactly as we found it.

🔥 SAVE THE FIRE FOR THE PITCH 🔥
There are ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES to be lit anywhere on site. With the Orange fire-risk warning and recent local wildfires threatening nearby towns, this is one rule we need everyone to take very seriously.

Save the map, pack your gear, load the horses and get yourselves ready…

We’ll provide the pitch. You bring the rivalry. 😏🏆

Some points ahead of the weekend 💪

CAMPING & PENNING
Camping and penning is in a new field a little further up the lane on the right.

Penning will be in the first field and camping in the second one with access from that field directly onto the pitch.

FARRIER
will be here all weekend 🐴

SAFETY - NO VEHICLES IN YARD
For safety reasons we ask that anyone driving to the pitch parks in the front yard - no vehicles allowed through the yard in the interest of health and safety. 🚙

WATER
Horse washing and drinking water will be available in the field down the road where the horses will be penned - please do not use the water in the yard as we need that to be available for the other non-polocrosse horses and owners in the yard. Please bring sponges. 🧽 💦

SATURDAY EVENING
We are planning a great evening again this year with a BBQ type set up and a party atmosphere, similar to previous years, with external catering to help us out. 🍔

EVENING MEAL
If you would like to join us for the evening meal on Saturday, please indicate this with your entries as we need to order food in advance. 🍴🍽️

GATES CLOSED
From a health and safety perspective, please ensure the gate to the field where the horses are penned is closed at all times to avoid any loose horses getting onto the road. 🔒

PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN
Pens are to be cleared and rubbish brought home. 🗑️🚮

NO FIRES
There are strictly no fires to be lit. 🔥
