UCD Boat Club

UCD Boat Club On the water since 1917. Proud residents of Belfield, Islandbridge and Blessington. Ad Astra UCD Boat Club can trace its roots back to 1917.

The club is based in the clubhouse at Islandbridge, Dublin 8, shared with the UCD Ladies Boat Club and the Old Collegians Boat Club. Training also takes place in Blessington and the UCD Sport Centre. We are always welcoming new members. The club is currently on a magnificent run of form thanks to the dedication of its members, coaches & committee. The club has been producing Irish international oa

rsmen since 1948 and it is one of the aims of the club to continue this trend and provide the support and coaching necessary to achieve this goal. The club’s Junior and Senior committees, with help from UCD Sport, ensure that the club’s day-to-day operations run smoothly, and that the club is adequately financed every year, allowing club members to compete at the highest level without distraction.

A busy weekend in London for UCDBC at the Met Regatta!

With hard racing across both days, it was the perfect opportunity to build on our momentum and get dialed in for the Irish Rowing Championships in July.

At the University Championships 2026, and have won:
- Senior Mixed 8+
- Senior Men’s 8+
- Novice Mixed 8+
- Novice Men’s 8+

On top of winning the first edition of both mixed events, UCDBC have also taken home the Wylie Cup for winning 2 of the 4 Men’s 8+ races.

University Championships 2026 is almost here. 🏆

Racing is set for this Saturday, 18th of April in Lough Rynn, Leitrim. Due to weather conditions, only Eights will take to the water across the Senior, Inter, Club, Novice and Mixed categories. Both the Wylie Cup and Bank of Ireland Cup are still up for grabs. 💪
