In the past few years we have picked a different charity each year to run our raffle for. This year we have decided to run it in aid of Critical Emergency Medical Response. We will be raffling two Winter term fees per show worth €160 each.
Last summer we had a very scary medical emergency with our little 2 year old daughter Lír in Airfield Farm. It required us calling the emergency services. Along with the ambulance and fire brigade paramedic, Dr. Keith Kennedy from Critical also arrived to help. Everyone was so fantastic in helping Lír.
After we had gotten over the shock of the incident we began to look up Critical and was amazed that it is a voluntary programme. Doctors, Nurses, Firemen and many more volunteer their time and at the drop of a hat they are off to help wherever they can in their local communities. This year we decided it would be a good opportunity to give back to this fantastic service.
Please read below some more information about Critical.
CRITICAL is a national Irish charity that provides life-saving pre-hospital emergency care through a network of volunteer Emergency Medical Responders, including critical care doctors and trained first responders. Dispatched by the National Ambulance Service following a 999/112 call, they arrive quickly to emergencies such as cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions, and serious accidents, delivering vital treatment while an ambulance is on the way.
