St. Senan’s 2 -10

This was our second win of the championship; played down in Newcastle West on last Friday night, in very fine conditions, we led at the break by 0-11 to 1-6 and then in the second half we outscored St. Senan’s by 1-12 to 1-04 with our goal coming from Ryan Sheehan and the points on the night came Brian Ahern (0-6, 2f), James Molyneaux (0-4, 1 two pointer), Micheál Brosnan (0-4), Jack Pierce (0-2), Micheál Fahy (0-2), Kevin Noonan (0-1). James Molyneaux (0-4, 1 two pointer), Adam O’Kelly (0-2), Brian Ahern (0-6, 2f). The table after four rounds reads as follows: Gerald Griffins 7 points (+26), Dromcollogher/ Broadford (+24), Na Pairsaigh 5 points (+15), Claughaun 3 points (-16), St. Senan’s 1 point (-14), Crecora/ Manister no points (-59). Our final game in the group is against Claughaun, on Saturday September 12th, in Fedamore, at 3pm, Referee: Martin Doherthy. Please Support your local club team.

St. Senan’s scored the first 1-1 of the game with the goal coming from Oisin Healy and the point coming from Oisin O’Farrell and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points of the game and these points came from Micheál Fahy and Adam O’Kelly to leave two points between the sides. James Naughton of St. Senan’s scored the next point of the game to leave three points between the sides and then James Naughton and James Molyneaux exchanged two pointers to leave three points between the sides. Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point to leave two points between the sides and then St. Senan’s scored the next two points of the game and these points came from Oisin Healy and Tadgh O’Brien to leave four points between the sides. Brian Stack of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored a second two pointer of the game coming from a free to leave two points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last four points of the half just before the break with two of these points coming from Brian Ahern from one a free and the other from play and the other points came from Micheál Brosnan and Micheál Fahy to give us the lead of two points between the sides at end of the half. James Molyenaux of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first point of the second half to leave three points between the sides and then St. Senan’s scored the next two points of the game and these points came from James Naughton and Oisin O’Farrell to leave a point between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to leave four points and these points came from Brian Ahern, Jack Pierce and James Molyneaux and then St. Senan’s scored the next 1-1 with both scores coming from James Naughton with 46 minutes gone in the game to leave the sides on level terms for the first time during the game. This was our second win in a row in the championship after we received two walkovers in the first two rounds, played down in Claughaun, on Saturday night last, we led at break by 1-7 to 3-0 with our goal coming from Rory O’Dell and then is second half we outscored them by 1-11 to 0-2 with our goal coming from Gerard O’Callaghan and the points on the night came: Alan Power (0-8, 1f), Rory O’Dell (0-2), Gavin Farrell (0-2), Ronan Cahill (0-2), Keith Lacey (0-2), Aaron Leahy (0-1), Damien Lacey (0-1). The table after four rounds read as follows: Athea 8 points (+18), Dromcollogher/ Broadford (+16), Rathkeale 8 points (+12), Na Piarsaigh 7 points (+8), Claughaum 5 points (-13), St. Senan’s 4 points (-27) Knockane and Kilmallock have both withdrawn from this competition. Claughaun scored the first goal of the game with two minutes gone in the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-1 of the game with goal coming from Rory O’Dell with seven minutes gone in the game and the point coming from Ronan Cahill to give us a lead of two points. Claughaun scored their second goal coming from penalty with 14 minutes gone in the game to give them back the lead by two points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points and these points came from Rory O’Dell, Alan Power, Damien Lacey to give us back the lead by a point once again for the second time during the game. Claughaun scored their second penalty of the goal with 21 minutes gone in the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points just before the break with two of these coming from Alan power and the other point came from Gavin Farrell to give us lead by a point at the break. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-7 to Claughaun 3-0.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first six points of the second half with three of these points coming from Alan Power including one from a free and the other points came from Gavin Farrell, Rory O’Dell, Keith Lacey to leave seven points between the sides and then Claughaun scored a point from mark to leave six points between the sides. Our U16 Hurlers had a great win over Newcastle West, on a lost Monday Night, played down in Newcastle West, in very fine conditions, at the break we lead by 1-14 to 2-06. with our goal coming from Tieran O’Flynn and then in second half we outscored Newcastle West by 4-8 to 0-7 with two our goals coming from Tieran O’Flynn and the other goals came from Micheal O’Kelly and Ciarán O’Callaghan and the points on the night came from: Micheál O’Kelly (11 points, 6f), Ciarán O’Callaghan (0-4), Stephen Pierce (0-4), Ben Lenihan (0-2).
