What a fantastic week ahead for Athlone Boat Club! 🚣‍♂️

We’re incredibly proud to see the Athlone Regatta featured on the front page of the Athlone Topic as we prepare to host what promises to be the biggest Athlone Regatta ever at Coosan Point.

A huge thank you to the Athlone Topic for taking the time for the wonderful interview and coverage over the past week. Your support in showcasing the hard work of our volunteers, members, athletes, and the wider rowing community is greatly appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming clubs, competitors, supporters, and friends from across the country to Coosan for what promises to be a fantastic day of racing and community spirit on Lough Ree.

Another regatta in this busy rowing season — virtually, we are repacking bags and heading straight to another competition.

At Castleconnell Regatta all our rowers — Anna Dempsey, Cloe Trimble, Anna Wasson, Alex Murphy, Aaron McBrearty, and Oran Reid — made us proud with fantastic performances throughout the day.

The highlight came from Alwin, who struck gold in the highly competitive Junior 15 single sculls category and topped it off with another impressive win in the Junior 16 category. A brilliant achievement and a fantastic reward for all the hard work and dedication shown this season.

It’s not over yet, Athlone Regatta , 1K Classic and Carrick On Shannon , next 💪🚣🏽‍♀️

Northwest Rowing Club would like to express sincere appreciation to Castleconnell Boat Club for their incredible support of our newly established club. Their generous donation of equipment has made a huge difference to our junior rowers and will greatly assist in their development and enjoyment of the sport.

Club President Roisin Hartigan and coach Joe Cunningham recalled how Castleconnell Boat Club received similar support from others when their own club was starting out in 1983. As the saying goes, “What goes around, comes around.”

Northwest Rowing Club would like to sincerely thank Donegal Sports Partnership for their support in helping purchase vital equipment for our ambitious rowers. Thanks to purchased two sets of dedicated stabilizers , our athletes can now progress confidently to racing singles and doubles without fear of capsizing.
We are looking forward to further cooperation with next projects.
