If you did the Peatlands Tour last weekend, as well as getting a little wet, you also received a useful souvenir to take home with you, a 2026 Peatlands Tour keyring!

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Peatlands Tour!

We would like to give a massive thanks to :

All cyclists who completed the routes on Saturday, thanks so much for supporting our annual event, it was great turnout. The weather didn’t play ball but still there were smiles at the finish line 👍

Our club members who assisted in preparation and running of the event, it’s such a great team effort, with so many jobs to get done in the weeks before, and on the day !

The Daingean Grand Canal Wheelers hosts its annual 'Peatlands Tour' cycling event this weekend – with two local organisations set to benefit from proceeds raised from the races.

One of the standout events of the festival – and a firm favourite every year – our Dog Show returns to Daingean Square on Sunday 14th June.
Always a fantastic, well‑attended event, it’s a chance for dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities to take centre stage 🐾
From waggiest tails to best dressed, there’s a category for everyone – whether your pup is a seasoned pro or just in it for the fun!

The 2026 Bike Week Grand Canal Greenway Relay was a success in the sun yesterday !
The weather played its part in a fantastic event. A good bunch of GWC members and a few keen Daingean locals took part.
We lead the relay group from Daingean bridge to Cappincur, where Supermac’s were on site providing hot refreshments 😋
From there the Daingean group went as far as the Thatch in Rahan , then turned back to head home.

We would like to acknowledge an Garda Siochana and also the Civil Defence for helping facilitate a smooth and safe event .

Massive thanks to Offaly Sports Partnership , especially Olivia Murphy in organising a fantastic event for Bike Week 👏 👏 well done Olivia and co.
