Quick run out this evening after work. Awful weather but it produced one c**k for the dinner tomorrow, flying it with the side by side at the moment. Young bird but still a good bit of meat on him finished with mozzarella and stuffing. Counting down to November already.

Co. Tipperary Fallow doe from field to fork. Shot on December 29th and made into 95 half pound burgers and 10 pieces of tender back strap. 80% venison, 15% pork fat and 5% smoked rashers minced in with 12 red onions.

A few shots from our members from the past week. Land is very wet and birds are getting wise. Holly with a nice retrieve with an old c**k. Bobby mac flushing and retrieving a wood c**k and a c**k pheasant for his owner who is finally finding the correct point of aim. Harvey flushing a few wood c**k with only this bird flushing our side of the cover. Happy new year

great day out today in lough Derg on Illaunmor for the Irish spaniel championship. Some fantastic birds and some tough shots pulled off. Best of luck to all the competitors on day 2. Very well run this year with the stewards getting us right up behind the guns.

Nice morning out today. We met a good few birds and put this released c**k on the ground this morning. Trying to walk off yesterday's dinner. Now off to the mountains in tipperary to try for a deer for the freezer.

Was working all weekend so only got out for an hour this evening. Birds are very wary with a few flushing 200 yards out. Delighted to shoot one of last year's released pheasants. A very heavy bird and ideal for a full roast on saturday. Which shows our release program is working. Shooting woodc**k over a spaniel with a sxs is as good as game shooting gets and makes some change to the heavy o/u

The Aussie braved the cold weather this morning and finished with a pair of wood c**k. Finally putting that 20 bore to good use.

A quick run out today for one of our members. Wood c**k are around now in good numbers with a few being flushed and 3 home for the table.

Working again the weekend so i got out for a shot today. Hit a few ditches with the bitch first and met 2 c**ks, 3 hens and a pair of wood c**k. With 2 misses and the rest going out the other side of the ditch to safety.
I then retired her and picked up my dog and hunted and patch of forestry for a few woodc**k and met 4 c**ks and a hen. Only this lad presented a shot. Getting used to the side x side again today. Completely different to my over and under. The cold weather had a lot of birds out. Great to see the dogs hunting so well and finding 10 pheasants in a few hours. Now to wait patiently for my next outing.
