Our over 35s once again prevailed in our annual charity game held yesterday in perfect playing-conditions in front of a large crowd.
The over 35s dominated the match although they relied on the cat-like reflexes of goalkeeper David Duffy to see off a late comeback.
Dylan Keane opened the scoring with a tame shot that was deflected into the corner.
This seemed to provoke the over 35s who took complete control and got a deserved equaliser when Matt Kelly hit the top corner from outside the box following a flowing move.
Half-time saw the sprightly Niall Donoher join the over 35s and he netted twice - Donoher clearly benefiting from the tika taka football implented by the overs, Enda Dunne, Paul McCormack, Alan Bell, Aidan Ryan and Others showing that age is no barrier.
With fitness became an issue, the under 35s finished strongly.... Ryan Little took only one of his goal chances - chances his dad Niall would have put away down the other end.
Thanks to all our players, referee Eddie Kinsella and the large amount of supporters who all contributed to an enjoyable morning.
Over €1,700 has been raised for the Cuisle Centre in memory of Joe Luttrell and Paul Ryan. A big thank you to everyone who donated to such a great cause!
