2024 Principal Insurance Masters Superbike Championship Season Completed βœ…οΈ

My goal for this season was to finish in the Top 10 positions in the Supersport Cup Championship - to actually end up fulfilling that goal by achieving 10th Place at the end is actually hard to believe and I'm over the moon with it.

I really wanted to try my hardest and put all my effort into trying to do every round of this season in Mondello Park as I hadn't done a full season of racing up until this point, I only did 4 out of the 7 rounds or so, in the 2022 Masters Championship in my first year & then to have no racing in Southern Ireland last year and having to head up to the USBK Championship in Northern Ireland, my engine blew up at the very first weekend.
So it was a very tough year last year saving pretty much every penny I had to replace the engine and not be able to upgrade the bike & try make a good attempt at it this year, I still didn't get to do every round this year as we had a mechanical problem at the August weekend πŸ™ƒ

Before the season started my fastest lap times around the Mondello Park International circuit was around the 1.57 mark, the one & only time we Raced on it this season my best time I got down to was a 1.50.1

My fastest lap time around the National Circuit before this season was around a 1.01 and the fastest lap time I got at the end of the season came at the last rounds which was a 57.3s in the very last race - in which I did 9 laps in a row within the 57s mark.

I got the amazing chance to take part in the 2024 Skerries 100 Sprint also which was a dream come true, I finished 9th in the Senior.

I have to thank Mark Arnott of for helping me with the suspension, the knowledge and help he gave me about halfway through the season really made a difference and even at the last round the advice he gave us we wouldn't of been able to figure out by ourselves and I don't think I would of achieved the lap times & results otherwise.

To all the lads in our little group that helped me, Liam, Derick, Neil, Deco and Luke - I couldn't ask for better lads to of given me a hand and I can't thank yous enough we wouldn't of been able to do it without yous.

Thank you to my lovely Girlfriend Parastu who has been there almost every weekend and supported me this whole year, definitely couldn't do any of this without her! And thank you to everyone who came down to support me over the year πŸ™

Last but certainly not least, Vin.. I definitely wouldn't be able to do any of this without him and I cannot thank him enough, I'm eternity grateful for all his help.

Huge congratulations to all the Champions this year 🫑

Especially Jack Whearty and Mark McGauran, two of the most genuine lads I've met and gotten to know really well this year, both truly deserving champions. Special thanks to Mark for all the advice throughout the year & for lending me some bits, gent 🀝

Hopefully the insurance issues can be sorted next year & we will have racing again but if not we will have to see what happens and hopefully make some sort of a plan 😎

🏁 Principal Insurance Masters Superbike Championship Recap 🏁

The weekend didn't get off to a great start for me as it had rained heavily in the morning so we decided to change the tyres before qualifying, went out in Qualifying on full wets onto basically a completely dry track.

Saturdays and more importantly, qualifying sessions have been not been great to me so far. I qualified 10th in the Ssp Cup with a time of 2.06.6 which put me into the Supersport & Superbike B race for Saturdays race.

Race 1 - (Round 10) - I started from 13th on the grid and finished 1st place πŸ₯‡ overall. Had an absolutely great race I must say against & on the 1000cc bikes, some of the best battles on track I've had so far. My fastest lap time of 1.51.2 promoted me into the Supersport Pro races for Sunday.

Race 2 - (Round 11) - I was starting from the back of the grid in 19th position so I knew I had some work to do. Got off to a good start but the race was red flagged & we restarted. It was the first time finishing in the top 10 in the Pro races so far with 10th place overall & 6th in the Cup class with my fastest lap time of a 1.50.2

Race 3 - (Round 12) - I started from 14th on the grid but my fuel light started flashing from the start of the 5th lap with 3 and a half laps to go, which just made me lose my concentration hoping it wouldn't run out of fuel before the end of the race, I made a couple of silly mistakes here and there & ended up losing 3 positions to finish 15th overall and 9th in the Cup class but I was just glad to of been able to finish anyway.
My fastest lap time of that race was a 1.51.4

I'm back up to 11th in the Cup Championship again and hoping to get better luck in Saturdays qualifying sessions for the remaining two race weekends to put me in a better place starting off the weekends as its been hard work to get into the Main Supersport race's.

Sunday was made even more special with a Surprise birthday πŸŽ‚ from my family & friends so massive thanks to them it was a great day 😊 thanks to Damon for making the trip up to also surprise me, my Dad for making the trip up, my sister Amie & her fiance Moe, my amazing Girlfriend Parastu 😘, Valentine and Vin for sorting the deadly Wheel cake with my race number on it πŸ˜…πŸ‘Œ it was one to remember for sure.

Huge thanks to the lads as usual for the Support & help over the weekend, Daddy Declan Lynch , Derick Royal , Liam & Neil Morris.

Massive thanks to aswell for the lend of his generator & trolley 🫑✊️

Lived a dream on Saturday.

Thanks Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club for putting on such a great & well ran event, it was amazing to see bikes on the Skerries road racing circuit again, even though it was just a Sprint, here's to hoping racing can come back to Southern Ireland soon.

It was a dream and an honour to take part in the 2024 Skerries Sprint.

Thanks a million to everyone who helped & supported the event, all the Marshals, medical teams, Garda & all the spectators who came out to watch.

Can't thank Vin enough for helping me & being there with me. Thank you to Parastu, Valentine, Neil & Luke who came to support me πŸ™

Something il never forget !

πŸ“Έ - πŸ‘πŸ«‘ Thanks for all the pictures & videos
