I had what felt like a tough love parenting experience this week. I paused to question the approach, but went with it in the end. Thankfully it resulted in a ‘I’m so glad I did this’ conversation, growth and learning too.

It reminded me how we can all benefit from a bit of 'just do it' encouragement from time to time and how I come across this in the world of coaching too.

While coaching is supportive and understanding and safe and whole, it is also challenging, asks the tough questions and keeps us accountable to our goals.

It is not always easy, but I am yet to meet someone who has not thought it was absolutely worth it.

Ever notice how some days you get so much done and others everything is a chore?

Like life itself, our energy will have a natural ebb and flow.

So when energy is high and you feel motivated take care to focus on what’s important to you and when you need rest, make space for that too.

At times problems can be all consuming and seem unsolvable. We can eat, sleep and breathe problems and get caught up in the frustration and resentment of them.

There is great power in stepping away from these situations, going to a different place, changing routines, talking it out with different people. The power lies in a change of perspective and a new way of seeing and thinking about the problem. We may even find out the problem was not the problem, but something else entirely:)
