What a weekend at Grappling Industries πŸ₯‹πŸ”₯

A huge well done to everyone from Athy BJJ who stepped onto the mats and tested themselves this weekend.

Whether you came home with a medal or not, it takes courage to put yourself out there, compete in front of a crowd and face the uncertainty that comes with competition. That's something that deserves respect in itself.

We had some fantastic performances, great teamwork and plenty of memorable moments across both days. More importantly, we represented the club with the right attitude, supporting each other every step of the way.

A special congratulations to all of our medal winners, but equally to everyone who trained, prepared and stepped up to compete. It's never easy, and every single person who got out there should be proud of themselves.

Respect to all πŸ‘Š

Day 2 at Grappling Industries brought even more success for the team πŸ₯‹πŸ”₯

A massive congratulations to and Bernard on both securing double gold in Gi and No-Gi πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡

The lads put in some fantastic performances throughout the day. Bernard showed incredible heart, resilience and determination after losing his first match, battling back to win his next two matches, including a submission victory in his final match. A great example of why you should never count yourself out after a setback.

Benny was dominant throughout the competition, winning all 4 of his matches and putting on a superb display of technical jiu-jitsu from start to finish.

What makes these achievements even more impressive is that both men started their jiu-jitsu journeys in their 40s. They are proof that age is just a number when it comes to learning, improving and challenging yourself. It's never too late to start.

Both lads are a huge credit to themselves, their training partners and the club. We couldn't be prouder of the way they represented Athy BJJ both on and off the mats.

Congratulations lads πŸ‘πŸ₯‹πŸ’ͺ

A huge congratulations to on a fantastic performance at Grappling Industries today πŸ‘πŸ₯‹

Eoin has been training with us for a number of years. Like many of us, his journey hasn't always been straightforward. He spent some time off the mats due to injuries and life's other commitments, but over the last few months he has worked hard to get himself back training consistently.

Recently promoted to blue belt, today was his first competition at blue belt level, and he absolutely rose to the occasion. πŸ’ͺ

Competing in the Adult division, Eoin had 4 tough matches, coming away with 3 wins and a hard-earned medal. Anyone who competes knows there's no easy route to the podium, and every one of those matches had to be earned.

Results are great, but what makes this achievement special is the perseverance it took to get here. Eoin is a great club man, a great training partner, a supportive teammate, and someone who always brings a positive attitude to the mats.

A special shoutout as well to for travelling up and cornering Eoin throughout the day. Giving up your own time to support teammates at competitions never goes unnoticed. Respect πŸ‘Š

We are immensely proud of what Eoin achieved today and even more proud to have him representing the club.

Well done Eoin πŸ‘πŸ₯‹πŸ”₯
