Athlone Town Cricket Club was delighted to take part in an outstanding training session with Kevin O’Brien.

A huge thank you to Kevin O’Brien for delivering three fantastic coaching sessions and for sharing his knowledge, experience, and passion for the game with all of our players. 👏

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Connacht Cricket Union for facilitating this excellent opportunity, and to Kilconnell Cricket Club for hosting us at their fantastic venue.

Representing our club, Khpalwak Mommand and Danish Khan proudly participated in the sessions, gaining valuable experience and learning from one of Ireland’s cricket greats.

Well done to everyone who took part—we look forward to putting what we've learned into practice!

🏆 Hard Tennis Ball Tournament Champions! 🏆

What an amazing day for Athlone Titans (Athlone Town Cricket Club)! 💙🏏

We are proud to be crowned Champions of the Roscommon Cricket Club Hard Tennis Ball Tournament! Competing against 12 strong teams, we won 4 out of our 5 matches to lift the trophy.

The semi-final and final were both nail-biting, low-scoring matches where our bowlers and fielders defended challenging totals with incredible determination. Every single player contributed—whether with the bat, ball, or in the field. This victory was a true team effort! 💪

🏏 MATCH REPORT | ATCC CLAIMS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON! 💙

A fantastic all-round team performance saw ATCC secure a convincing 47-run victory against Tullamore Friendly Game, earning our first win of the season in style!

After an early setback with the bat, Kaleem produced a truly outstanding innings, remaining unbeaten on 109. His remarkable knock accounted for 55% of the team's total, coming at a blistering strike rate of 209.6. Featuring 11 fours and 8 sixes, Kaleem's innings completely changed the game and guided ATCC to a competitive 197/8.

A valuable contribution from Khpalwak (25) provided important support during the middle overs, helping build a match-winning total.

The bowlers then stepped up brilliantly to defend the target. Santhosh (3/27) attack with an excellent spell, while Rakesh claimed 4 crucial wickets to break key partnerships. Kaleem capped off a memorable all-round performance by taking 2 wickets, and Khpalwak maintained pressure with an economical spell of 3 overs for 22 runs.

The fielding effort was equally impressive, with every player contributing to a disciplined performance. A special mention goes to Mohamood, who pulled off an incredible catch—one of those catches that seemed to stick before he even realized he'd taken it! 👏

Of course, no team performance is complete without a little entertainment... our captain also managed to put down what might just have been the easiest catch of the season! Thankfully, the team had his back—and we're sure he'll be hearing about it for a while! 😄

This victory was built on teamwork, determination, and belief. Every player contributed, and that's exactly the standard we want to carry into the rest of the season.
