It’s been a fantastic season so far. Ross has continued to make huge strides in his swim, and earned multiple opportunities to compete against some of the very best athletes in Ireland and Europe.

Representing your country is never something to take for granted, and it’s a testament to the hard work, consistency and commitment Ross has shown throughout the year.

Wishing you the very best of luck this weekend, Ross. Enjoy every second, race with confidence, and make the most of another opportunity to wear the Irish colours. We’re all behind you. 💙🇮🇪

This weekend marks a big milestone for Debora as she lines up for her first Ironman 70.3 at Tri Tyrone.

Although she’s no stranger to hard work and endurance training, this season has been about bringing structure and consistency to her triathlon training. Since completing her first full triathlon of the season back in May, the progress has been clear to see.

From personal bests on the bike, to stronger swims, faster running, and some fantastic performances at events along the way, every training block has built confidence. Whether it was a 100km+ charity cycle packed with PBs, a strong Olympic-distance race, or consistently showing up week after week despite balancing work, family and training, the foundations have been laid.

Now it’s time to bring it all together.

The goal this weekend isn’t just the finish line—it’s to trust the training, race with confidence and enjoy the experience of a first 70.3.

A huge best of luck, Debora. You’ve earned your place on that start line, and everyone at Fit For Tri is looking forward to following your journey.

Go and enjoy every minute. 💙💛

A huge congratulations to Josh on a fantastic performance last weekend, taking the Under-24 National Sprint Triathlon Championship and finishing inside the overall top 10. 🏆

Josh continues to show the consistency, commitment and professionalism that makes him such an exciting athlete to coach. Every race this season has been another step forward, and it’s brilliant to see all the hard work paying off.

Now the focus shifts to this weekend, where he’ll be lining up to defend his Under-24 National 70.3 Championship title in Tyrone. A very different challenge, but one we’re looking forward to.

Best of luck this weekend, Josh. Trust the work, race with confidence, and enjoy the opportunity. We’re all behind you and can’t wait to see what you can do. 💙💛

🇮🇪 BEST OF LUCK TO EOGHAN CUNNINGHAM 🇮🇪

This weekend, Eoghan will pull on the Irish trisuit for the very first time as he represents Ireland at the European Multisport Championships.

Watching athletes earn the opportunity to race in green is always something special, but it’s made even more rewarding when you’ve witnessed the journey from the very beginning.

Eoghan came into triathlon as a novice swimmer and has worked relentlessly to improve every aspect of his racing. Week after week he has turned up, trusted the process, embraced every challenge and never been afraid of the work required to improve.

That attitude has already seen him complete his first marathon, a fantastic IRONMAN 70.3 in Alghero, and now he’s earned the chance to wear the Irish colours on the European stage.

Results will take care of themselves. The real achievement is everything that’s gone into getting here.

Enjoy every second of the experience, race with confidence and make the most of wearing that green trisuit for the first time.

Fit For Tri is incredibly proud of you, Eoghan.

Best of luck—we’ll all be cheering you on. 🇮🇪💚

A massive congratulations to Ross, Josh and Joe on an incredible Fit For Tri clean sweep of the podium at the Longford Aquathon.

🥇 Ross Killalea
🥈 Josh Schnell
🥉 Joe Donohoe

To see all three podium positions occupied by Fit For Tri athletes is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, consistency and commitment these athletes bring to training week after week.

Ross continues to build excellent momentum heading into a big summer of racing. His confidence, race ex*****on and consistency are improving with every outing, and it is great to see that work translating into results.

A special mention to Josh, who has backed up an outstanding performance at the European Championships over the last few days with another superb race. Competing against one of the strongest fields he has ever faced and then stepping onto the podium again this week is a testament to his fitness, resilience and determination. The progress he has made over the last year has been exceptional.

Joe once again showed his class and racing instinct. Balancing training, swimming, school and exams is no easy task, but he continues to step up when the gun goes and is proving himself to be a very exciting young athlete.

Results like this are never accidental. They are built on early mornings, consistent training, trust in the process and a willingness to keep showing up day after day.

A brilliant night for all three athletes and a proud moment for the entire Fit For Tri community.

💙💛 Well done lads. 💙💛

Massive congratulations to Josh Schnell on an outstanding performance at the European Standard Distance Championships in Tarragona, finishing 8th in the 20–24 age category.

This was a seriously high-level international field, with several athletes already on the edge of stepping towards the professional ranks, so to come away with a European top 10 is a result Josh should be very proud of.

The course was far from straightforward, with a non-wetsuit swim, a rolling bike course, plenty of surges, and a technical run in the heat. It was a proper racer’s course, and Josh showed the strength, composure and competitiveness that have been building all season.

From a Fit For Tri perspective, it has been brilliant to see the work coming through. The swim and bike have taken a real step forward, the run has come back strongly, and this result shows the level Josh is now competing at.

A fantastic athlete, and a fantastic coach in his own right.

Well done Josh. A European Championship top 10 is a serious result, and there is a lot more to come this season.

Congratulations to Joe on a fantastic win today in his Youth Series Aquathlon race.

Fresh off coming second on Wednesday, Joe produced another outstanding performance. Despite describing it himself as “not a great swim”, he came out of the water joint first. A superb transition saw him take the lead immediately, and from there he raced with confidence and composure to hold on for the win.

What makes this result even more impressive is the context behind it. Joe has been balancing injuries, exams, school commitments and the demands of being a competitive swimmer. There have been plenty of challenges along the way, but he continues to show up, put in the work and trust the process.

This result is a testament not only to Joe’s ability, but also to his work ethic, resilience and, perhaps most importantly, his ability to race when it matters most.

A massive congratulations, Joe. A well-deserved victory and another big step forward. 🥇

Best of luck to Josh Schnell as he heads to the European Standard Distance Championships this weekend representing Team Ireland.

What a fantastic opportunity to wear the green, white and gold with pride and test yourself on the European stage.

Be confident in your strength, trust the work you’ve done, and enjoy every second of it.

A brilliant athlete and a fantastic coach in his own right. Really looking forward to seeing what Josh can do.

Go well Josh. We’re all behind you.

A massive well done to Debora on what has been a fantastic start to the season.

Over the last number of weeks, Debora has been busy across all three disciplines, bringing together consistent training and strong performances.

She kicked off her triathlon season with a great performance over the Olympic distance, showing the progress that has been building behind the scenes.

Last week, she backed that up with an outstanding 100km+ Croí Charity Cycle, setting a number of personal bests along the way and showing the strength that is really starting to come to the fore on the bike.

During the week, she was back in action again at the Lough Key Aquathon, getting stuck into the racing and putting together another strong performance.

What makes it even more impressive is that all of this is being balanced alongside a busy work life, family commitments and everything else that comes with everyday life.

The consistency is paying off, the fitness is building, and it’s great to see the confidence growing with every race and training block.

A really strong start to the season and plenty more to come.

A big shout out to Fit For Tri’s newest athlete, Edel Doyle.

Edel is still relatively new to multi-sport, but she brings with her a strong and seasoned running background, a brilliant attitude, and a real willingness to commit to the process.

Not every win happens on race day.

Some of the biggest breakthroughs happen quietly in the first few weeks of a focused training block. Those early moments when an athlete starts to notice the difference. Heart rate settling. Paces becoming more controlled. Recovery improving. Energy coming back. Training starting to feel smarter, not just harder.

As a coach, those first 8 to 10 weeks are some of the most exciting. It is where athletes begin to realise that better training does not always mean more suffering. Sometimes it means better structure, better control, better consistency, and trusting the plan long enough to let the body adapt.

Edel has already started to reap the rewards of that approach, and it has been brilliant to see.

A massive well done, Edel, for trusting the process and committing fully from the start.

Really looking forward to seeing those gains show up on race day very soon.
