📢 What are competitors saying? Here are the expectations of Hegedüs Márton 🇭🇺, who took part in the EYOC 2026 1st Training Camp:
💬 “I already participated in EYOC 2025 in the Czech Republic, although it was held on very different types of terrain. It was a great experience for me, and I achieved most of the goals I had set for myself before the event. Next EYOC looks like it will be a high-quality competition, with a strong field and especially technical terrains.
Personally, I hope to finish even better than last year in both individual races. Last year we finished 3rd in the relay, which was a great result for us. We’ll see how strong we and the other teams will be in 2026, but I’m hoping for a similar — or even better — result. We took part in a training camp in Slovenia in the second half of October, mostly running the courses of the official EYOC training camp. We were able to experience the specifics of these very unique and difficult terrains: how to navigate and run as fast as possible in the rocky areas without making major mistakes. It’s easy to make errors there, but during the camp I felt that I gained valuable experience and even started to enjoy running on this type of terrain. Now the goal is to build a very solid base, then have a strong spring racing season, and arrive in Slovenia in the best possible shape.”
