In the Men’s 65-74 category, the semifinals featured players from four different countries – Denmark, Slovenia, Germany and France – highlighting the truly international character of the tournament.

The title was ultimately claimed by 72-year-old Slovenian Alfred Vodušek. After a demanding semifinal in which he came back from 0:2 down to defeat Denmark’s Carsten Jacobsen, the popular “Fredi” continued his great run and beat Germany’s Luger 3:1 in the final.

Vodušek has an impressive table tennis résumé – he was once Balkan champion, and last year in Rome he won the world champion title in the consolation group, in a competition featuring more than 800 players.

He also added another medal at this tournament, winning bronze in the Doubles 40–59 category together with Tadej Vodušek. 🏓👏

The awards were presented by Tina Slamar, the Mayor of Vrsar, and Klara Trošt Lesić, Director of the Vrsar Tourist Board.

Congratulations, Fredi - next year you’ll be defending the title! 🏓👏

She reached the title after a tough semifinal in which she came back from 0:2 down against Croatia’s Ivana Medvedović.

The awards ceremony was made even more special as the medals and trophies were presented by the legendary Greek table tennis player Kalinikos Kreanga, adding a memorable touch to the celebration.

Interestingly, both Martas also won bronze medals in the Women’s Doubles 40+ category.

👏 Congratulations on the great results, and see you at the 3rd Stone Racket Istria! 🏓

🏓 Latvian celebration at Stone Racket Istria! 🇱🇻

Latvian players left a great impression at our tournament, and one player in particular stood out - 𝗜𝗻𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗽𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗲, who won the 40-59 category.

In the final she produced a real thriller. After trailing 0–2 in sets, she made a remarkable comeback and eventually defeated Hungarian player 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘇𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝗿 3:2. 🔥

Interestingly, the two had already met in the qualification group, where Spengler won 3:2. The final was almost an identical match, but this time the outcome was different and the victory went to the Latvian player.

Ina didn’t stop there - she also won a silver medal in doubles together with Germany’s Karen Hellwig. 🥈

As for Krisztina Spengler, she found consolation in the doubles event, where she teamed up with Viktoria Marosi to win the title. 🏆

Ina Jozepsone is also Vice President of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU), and she received her award from Zoran Primorac, who is also a Vice President of the ETTU.

👏 Congratulations on the great matches and excellent play!

Estonian Annti Luigemma won the 50-59 tournament, defeating Latvian Sandijs Vasiljevs 3:1 in the final. The finalists of the singles event then teamed up in doubles – and guess what – they won the tournament again! 🇪🇪 🇱🇻

It was a fantastic event for the cheerful and friendly Latvian, as well as for Estonian Vasiljevs, who has had an impressive career. He has been Latvian champion 45 times – 19 in singles, 14 in doubles, and 12 in mixed doubles. He has represented Latvia at multiple World Championships and played for several clubs, including in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Bundesliga. He has also achieved great success at veterans’ World and European Championships.

This year the competition was tougher than the last year… and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
