For months, many of you have followed my underdog project — an idea of a simple, achievable, fast & seaworthy ocean sailboat. At least, that’s what I promised.
Along the way, I made a wrong judgment. It was an expensive mistake — most costly in time, as I lost schedule, and also financially, potentially affecting the trust of partners who had committed materials and equipment. In projects of this scale, a single early misstep can have long-term consequences. This one did, and ultimately it affected the entire project.
Putting a lifelong dream on standby is never easy — and admitting it publicly is even harder. But there are no excuses
A big part of that journey was experimenting with a flat-panel boatbuilding approach — a simple, fast, affordable construction method I still believe in. I hope one day it will make it to the sea.
Now it’s time to extract the lessons and sail on, focus on the upcoming Flying Dutchman and Snipe season: boat maintenance, technical improvements, and structured performance preparation.
The offshore chapter may be paused, but progress is not.
See you on the water.
