黎左加拿大正職係做長者服務,有一日老細突然同我講:「喂ting ting 不如搞返個椅子瑜伽啦。唔好晒左你既專業。」當時我對眼瞪到大一大(🤩好似咁樣樣),即刻馬上立刻話好,然後就開始左第一堂既椅子瑜伽班喇。
自己由2019年教到而家,老中青幼都教過,空中地面椅子都有教埋,一對一既有,一對20都有。戶外室內,甚至水上瑜伽都教埋。
我覺得椅子瑜伽其實真係好岩活動同身體能力暫時有限制既人初接觸。長者,痛症、中風、有慢性病,甚至係普通人任何人都適合。
同埋教長者有一樣好開心,好有滿足感既係,佢地真係好有目標黎上堂。佢地好清楚做每一樣野都係對佢地有好處,上堂動機非常大。由8月教到而家,睇住佢地進步,我覺得暫時係我黎左加拿大之後其中一樣令到我有成就感既野。
我好想繼續將椅子瑜伽推廣出去令大眾受惠更多。如果大家身邊有合適既人可以聯絡我,特別係中風同癌症。可以試下設計一套動作比佢地一齊練習。我唔收費(但要識得尊重),希望可以減低病情帶黎既影響,同埋我相信練習瑜伽係可以加快康復進度。

When I came to Canada, my main job was to work with seniors. One day, my supervisor suddenly said to me, “Hey Ting Ting, why don’t you start a chair yoga class? Don’t waste your professional skills.” I was so surprised and happy 🤩. I immediately said yes, and that’s how my first chair yoga class began.
Since 2019, I have been teaching yoga to people of all ages — from children to seniors. I’ve taught yoga on the floor, in the air, and even on chairs. I’ve also done one-on-one lessons and group classes with up to 20 people. I’ve taught both indoors and outdoors, and even some water yoga.
I believe chair yoga is a great way for people with limited movement or physical challenges to start exercising. It’s perfect for seniors, people with pain, stroke patients, those with chronic diseases, and really anyone who wants to stay active.
Teaching seniors gives me so much joy and satisfaction. They are very motivated and know exactly why they come to class — to improve their health. Seeing their progress since I started in August has made me feel a real sense of achievement.
I truly hope to keep promoting chair yoga so more people can benefit from it. If you know someone who might be interested — especially stroke or cancer patients — please contact me. I’d love to design simple exercises for them to practice together. I don’t charge any fee (but I do expect respect). My goal is to help reduce the impact of illness and support faster recovery through yoga practice.
