I have been a personal trainer since 2007 and swimming coach since 1999
I am a Hong Kong native speaking Cantonese, and will teach in English and Mandarin. I teach throughout Hong Kong from learn to swim as young as 6 months infants to mature adults, also aiding the development of athletes to competitive level. As a Personal Trainer, a typical workout of mine will include a variety of equipment: t

he TRX Suspension Trainer, kettle bells, free weights and so on. I have worked with student athletes and people who just want to lose weight and improve their fitness.

多做帶氧運動有助提升學習表現。

運動和認知能力看似風馬牛不相及,為甚麼多做帶氧運動,可以提升孩子閱讀和算術等認知功能呢?
答案在於攝氧量較高的人,腦部活動與眾不同。舉例說,他們的腦電波較為活躍,負責計劃和協調等腦區的活動較高,而監察和偵測錯誤的功能亦較強。此外,在負責學習與記憶的腦區海馬(hippocampus),腦細胞的數量亦會隨着運動量增加。學者認為,多做帶氧運動會刺激腦部血管生長,提升大腦輸送氧氣到所需腦區的效率,亦能增加有助形成長期記憶的化學物質,能有助把學習的事物鞏固並儲存下來。
由此可見,運動能增進大腦的基本功能,難怪多做帶氧運動可以增強各項認知功能和學習能力,讓孩子變得聰明伶俐。

做哪些運動使人更聰明?

希望孩子轉數高一點,成績更進一步?多做帶氧運動就是提升腦力最簡單直接,而又有科學根據的方法。
跑步、游水、打羽毛球、乒乓球、籃球、網球、壁球等等都屬於帶氧運動,又或可多跟孩子玩些涉及跑跑跳跳的活動,例如馬騮搶球、數字球、跳大繩、捉迷藏等,選擇多籮籮,既好玩又所費無幾。
至於花時間做運動會變相減少溫習時間,會否間接令成績倒退?多項外國研究一致指出,花適當時間做運動並不會為成績帶來負面影響;相反,要孩子從早到晚“坐定定”,有如剝奪孩子訓練大腦和提高學習能力的機會,才會得不償失呢!
