Hong Kong Youth Ballet Academy (HKYBA), formerly L'École de Jeune Ballet, aims to create excellent, classical ballet dancers through intensive training programs and professionally produced stage performances. Leading teachers are former principal dancers of The Hong Kong Ballet with years of professional stage experience. They understand, and cater to, the individual needs of each students. HKYBA

teaches students to enjoy ballet as a form of performing arts. Three carefully designed courses cover students ranging from age three to eighteen: the Children Inspiring Program; the Pre-Professional Training Program; and the Professional Training Program (for gifted students, who wish to become professional dancers). Open Classes are offered at several different levels to accommodate ballet lovers who want high quality training for leisure. Since 2002, successful students have won a significant number of scholarships and medals in major local and international competitions. They have also been accepted into leading ballet schools and professional ballet and dance companies in Hong Kong and around the world.

Hong Kong Youth Ballet Academy is thrilled to celebrate the achievement of our alumna Tirion Law, who has been promoted to Principal Dancer of the National Ballet of Canada. Tirion‘s accomplishment brings great honor to the school, and we are deeply proud of her.🌟

Breaking news: Tirion Law promoted to Principal Dancer! Following her brilliant performance as Kitri in this afternoon, Artistic Director Hope Muir surprised Tirion and the audience when she promoted her to Principal Dancer onstage.

“One of the greatest joys of my position is to recognize an artist’s unique contribution to this company with a promotion. I could not be more thrilled to promote Tirion Law from Second Soloist to Principal Dancer. This season, Tirion made several accomplished debuts in principal roles showing she is more than ready for this next step in her career. From her heartbreaking Juliet to her delightful Alice and now her fiery Kitri, Tirion captivates audiences with her charisma, precise technique and her ability to fully inhabit each character she portrays. Her work ethic, generosity and professionalism are evident both on stage and in the studio and I am so excited to watch her embrace this new role in 2024/25,” said Hope.
