教大健康與體育學系及香港輕（氣）排球總會於上周末（10月8日及9日）合辦「香港輕排球賽」，首設「殘疾人士坐地輕排球」組別，讓肢體殘疾及健全人士一起享受打輕排球的樂趣，屬本港首個坐地輕排比賽。
輕排球 Light Volleyball，在內地稱為氣排球，是近年的新興運動。輕排球較一般排球體積大，重量則輕140克。輕排球的傳球速度較慢，門檻亦比傳統的排球寬鬆，讓初學者更容易控制及掌握當中的竅門。而坐地輕排球是一項新的適應性運動，由健康與體育學系梁家文博士及其研究團隊研發，希望能讓更多人體驗輕排球及坐地輕排球。

Because a light volleyball (LVB) is lighter (150g versus 250g) and larger (80cm versus 65cm) than the standard volleyball, it moves slower and stays in the air longer. These features make light volleyball more playable for older players with reduced agility and slower reaction time.
