Πριν μερικά χρόνια, το όνειρο του 24χρονου Cedrik Bakke Christophersen ήταν η συμμετοχή στους Ολυμπιακούς Αγώνες του Λος Άντζελες το 2028.
Όχι όμως στην ποδηλασία, αλλά στο τρίαθλο!
Γιατί αυτό ήταν το άθλημα στο οποίο αφοσιώθηκε από την ηλικία των 15 ετών, με συμμετοχή σε πολλούς αγώνες με την πανίσχυρη εθνική ομάδα της χώρας του.
Το 2023 όμως, αποφάσισε να ασχοληθεί αποκλειστικά με την ποδηλασία δρόμου, και φυσικά η καταλληλότερη ομάδα για να τον βοηθήσει, δεν ήταν άλλη από την Team Drali - Repsol (τότε Team Coop Sykkel).
Και ήταν μόλις στον πρώτο του αγώνα, εκεί όπου ο Cedrik έδειξε τις δυνατότητές του, όταν στις 5 Μαρτίου του 2023 κατακτούσε στη Ρόδο την πρώτη του νίκη με μια τρομερή επίθεση στα τελευταία μέτρα του δεύτερου ετάπ του Visit South Aegean Islands, και περνώντας πρώτος τη γραμμή του τερματισμού στη Σάλακο, κατακτούσε ταυτόχρονα και τη λευκή φανέλα του καλύτερου νέου.
Χθες ο Νορβηγός, αγωνιζόμενος πλέον με την Unibet Rose Rockets, έγραψε μία ακόμα σπουδαία σελίδα στην προσωπική του καριέρα, επιτυγχάνοντας την πρώτη του επαγγελματική νίκη, και μάλιστα μπροστά στους συμπατριώτες του, τερματίζοντας πρώτος στο 4ο και τελευταίο ετάπ του Arctic Race of Norway (2.Pro).
Ως διοργανωτές των International Cycling Events in Rhodes, δεν μπορούμε παρά να είμαστε υπερήφανοι, που ακόμα ένας ταλαντούχος αθλητής έκανε τα πρώτα του βήματα στη Ρόδο και τους αγώνες μας.

A few years ago, 24-year-old Cedrik Bakke Christophersen’s dream was to compete at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Not in cycling, though, but in triathlon!
That was the sport he had dedicated himself to since the age of 15, competing in numerous races with his country’s formidable national team.
In 2023, however, he decided to switch to road cycling, and naturally, there was no better team to help him make that transition than Team Drali - Repsol (then Team Coop Sykkel).
And it was in his very first race that Cedrik showed what he was capable of. On March 5, 2023, he claimed his first victory, launching a tremendous attack on the final uphill metres of the second stage of the Visit South Aegean Islands and crossing the finish line first in Salakos, while also claiming the white jersey as the best young rider.
Yesterday, the Norwegian, now racing for Unibet Rose Rockets, wrote another remarkable chapter in his career, claiming his first professional victory — and doing so in front of his home crowd — by winning the fourth and final stage of the Arctic Race of Norway (2.Pro).
As organisers of the International Cycling Events in Rhodes, we cannot help but feel proud that yet another talented rider took his first steps in road cycling here in Rhodes and at our races.
