My Dearest Marianna,
I write to you, to your memory, with great sadness that you have left us. I chose this picture of us together because, as always, there is light above you, around you and within you. To me, you were and will always be
"fos".
When I came to live in Greece with my husband Nikolaos over 10 years ago, you opened your home, your heart and took me under your wing- and many times having you close by made me feel - safe. And then I saw that this is what you did for your family and the 10s of 1000s of children you helped and saved. You were a safe space, a beacon of light, of hope - of Elpida - and will continue to be so as your legacy lives on through your children, grandchildren, your work and the impact you have had on so many.
Very few people can make everyone feel unique and important and special - you did that. Because you were. I will remember you always and we will keep working to keep Elpida Youth alive.
An Icon. A Humanitarian. A Loyal Friend. And more than anything we know you loved your family.
You are loved- yesterday, today & tomorrow and will always be with us.
