With humility and a deep sense of responsibility, after a deep reflection, sincere consultation, advise from family and series of meetings and negotiations, and careful
consideration of the current circumstances, Our candidate Amadou L S Jaiteh together with his entire team have decided to withdraw our aspiration for the presidency of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF).

This decision was not made lightly. The desire to serve Gambian football has always been driven by a genuine passion to contribute to the growth, unity, transparency, and development of our game at all levels. However, Amadou and his team remain firmly committed to the
progress of football in our country and to the values that inspired my interest in this race.

At this important moment, we believe that the greater interest of Gambian football must come first before personal ambition. As we celebrate the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt wishes to the entire Muslim Ummah, the football family, and all Gambians at home and abroad.

Eid al-Adha reminds us of the values of sacrifice, unity, compassion, and service to humanity — principles that also inspire our vision for the future of Gambian football. It’s time to reflect on our shared responsibility to one another and to renew our commitment to building a strong, and inclusive and united society.

On this special day, I call on all stakeholders in Gambian Football- players, coaches, administrators, fans and partners to continue working together with sincerity and dedication for the growth and development of our beloved game.

In the coming days, Amadou will officially unveil his Reforms Agenda for the future of the Gambia Football Federation 🇬🇲 — a comprehensive plan aimed at transforming our football administration, strengthening grassroots development, empowering clubs, and creating greater opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and stakeholders across the country.

Our agenda is built on:

⚽ Grassroots and Youth football development
⚽ Women’s football empowerment
⚽ Improved league structures and club support
⚽ Professionalism and good governance
⚽ Unity and progress for Gambian football
⚽️ Development of referees and coaches

As a young age, Amadou had the honor of serving our beloved country through football—working as a physiotherapist and kit man for the U17, U20, and senior national teams. Those early days were more than just service; they were a lesson in discipline, teamwork, resilience, and national pride.

Amadou stood behind our athletes, supported their journeys, and witnessed firsthand what it means to represent The Gambia with passion and integrity. That experience shaped his belief that with the right leadership, commitment, and unity, we can achieve greatness in every sector of our football.

When national duty calls, Amadou step forward with a renewed sense of purpose—to serve, to lead, and to build a stronger, more inclusive football for our beloved Gambia with a commitment to reforms football, Develop Infrastructure and Capacity building for all stakeholders involved in football.
