Arsenal handed Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer incentive by Lille chief as three deal rivals emerge

Arsenal hold an interest in Morocco international gem Ayyoub Bouaddi, who starred on his World Cup debut against Brazil

Arsenal have been courting Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi since 2025 - but they aren't alone.

As one ageing midfielder, Casemiro, struggled in the sweltering heat at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on Saturday, one teenage prospect seemed set on using the fiercely-contested Group C opener as a catwalk to flaunt his quality.

Bouaddi, who snubbed his country of birth, France, pre-tournament to pledge his international future to Morocco, displayed marvellous maturity, positioning and technical quality as he took the fight to Brazil.

Naturally, the attack-minded Atlas Lions were not afraid to flood men forward but there was an element of security when doing so as Bouaddi was capable of holding down the fort.

Les Bleus, who are undeniably short of a top midfielder, must be wondering how they let the 18-year-old anchorman slip through the net given he was captaining their U21s as recently as this year.

Barcelona is pushing to sell Casado before June 30, but Atletico Madrid has rejected the offer, making Real Betis a potential destination.

Barcelona is trying to monetize Marc Casado before the fiscal year-end on June 30. His and Fati's departures were supposed to supplement the club's accounts to balance this fiscal year's budget, but the young Barcelona academy product is in no hurry. If he must leave, he wants to make a well-considered decision and is weighing offers he finds more attractive. Atletico Madrid was previously one of his options, but the Rojiblancos have now rejected the possibility of signing him as they have other priority transfer targets.

According to Sport, Barcelona are looking for a striker this summer, while Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing Ferran Torres.

The European giants' transfer market is already heating up this summer, and the paths of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are crossing again. At Camp Nou, the club is fully focused on finding a top striker to bolster their attack after Robert Lewandowski's departure.

In this competition, Argentine forward Julián Álvarez remains Barcelona's top choice for the sporting department. However, while Barcelona are concentrating their resources on this position, Paris has quietly begun to contact a player whom Hansi Flick considers absolutely indispensable in his new plan.

Paris Saint-Germain's alternative plan

According to Sky Sport reporter Luca Bendoni, Paris Saint-Germain's sporting department has officially listed Ferran Torres as a priority target for this transfer window. Paris's move is not accidental but an alternative plan designed in response to changes in their own squad. Paris will only initiate the signing of this forward if Bradley Barcola's departure this summer materializes.

The current situation in Paris appears calm. Having just secured their second consecutive Champions League trophy, Paris Saint-Germain began to address the most pressing issues within the team two weeks ago, with Barcola's future being one of the most sensitive. Although the French winger still has two years left on his contract, his continued presence at Parc des Princes next season is not guaranteed. Paris management tried to push for a contract extension months ago, but negotiations have completely stalled.

Discussions around Barcola and changes in Paris's attitude.

Barcola's agent, Moussa Sissoko, who also represents Ousmane Dembélé, met with sporting advisor Luis Campos last week to assess the current situation. According to L'Équipe, club insiders, including President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Campos, and coach Luis Enrique, privately fully support the player and even, at times, understand the 23-year-old winger's frustration.

However, after negotiations dragged on for too long, Paris Saint-Germain has changed its stance and no longer completely rules out a sale, which has forced them to look for sufficiently reliable alternatives in the international transfer market.

Non-transferable in Flick's plans

It is in this context that Ferran Torres has come into view. However, his departure from Barcelona is very unlikely, as the Foios player's primary goal is to remain at Spotify Camp Nou long-term. The player's intentions are clear. In fact, the player himself and his team wish to formally engage with club management before the start of the new season to discuss a contract extension, prolonging his current contract which expires on June 30, 2027. This attitude directly conflicts with Paris's wishes and confirms Hansi Flick's stance—he considers Ferran Torres a key component of his tactical system.

Osimhen speaks out after controversy: “The Weight Is on Me”
10 hours ago / autty
Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen finally addressed the backlash over his behavior during Nigeria’s recent Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Speaking candidly, the forward reflected on the pressure of leading the Super Eagles.

“When we did not qualify for the World Cup, everyone called just me out. They forgot about other players. That’s when I understood the weight is on me,” Osimhen said. He added that, despite Nigeria scoring three goals in recent matches, players must remain vigilant. “Yes, we scored three goals already, but in football, five goals can be scored in three minutes. That’s why we did not have to relax. The whole country is counting on us, and if we fail, they’ll drag us everywhere—especially me.”

Neymar was close to retiring when he suffered his latest injury, as revealed by his father and agent, Neymar da Silva Santos Sr.

The 33-year-old was struggling with a meniscus injury heading into the final stages of the season with Santos, who were in a relegation battle in the Brazilian top-flight.

However, Neymar decided to play through the pain to try and help Santos retain their Serie A status, and he did exactly that.

Santos won each of their last three matches, with Neymar scoring a hat-trick against Juventude and registering a goal and an assist against Sport Recife to keep them in the division.
