Our new season Couples Beginners Ballroom & Latin
classes are starting soon and they’re perfect for you if
you’ve always fancied learning but never managed to
convince your partner or never quite got round to it. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Come with your partner or friend and experience the
world of Dance with us!

No experience is needed — we’ll teach you everything
from the beginning, supply the teachers, music and dance
hall, organise various dance sessions a week for you and make
sure you both enjoy our friendly sessions.
Oh and by the way👉🏼 our Couples Beginners Sessions are
FREE, yes FREE!

This year we will be enjoying a fabulous BBQ prepared for us
by our favourite caterers from the IPA Club as well as plenty
of Modern Sequence and Party Dances.

When people hear the word ""dance,"" they often picture fast spins, powerful jumps, and exhausting choreography. But not every style is built for high intensity. In fact, low-impact dance has quietly become one of the most enjoyable ways for people of all ages to stay active while being kinder to their backs and joints.

Unlike workouts filled with repeated jumping or heavy impact, low-impact dance focuses on controlled movement, posture, flexibility, balance, and core strength. Styles such as ballroom, salsa, contemporary, tai chi-inspired dance, and beginner fitness dance routines encourage smooth, flowing motions that strengthen the muscles supporting the spine without placing excessive stress on it.

Physical therapists and fitness professionals frequently recommend gentle movement for many people experiencing mild back discomfort, as staying completely inactive can sometimes make stiffness even worse. Dancing also encourages better posture, improved mobility, and stronger core muscles, all of which help support a healthier back over time.

Another advantage is that dancing rarely feels like traditional exercise. Instead of counting repetitions or staring at a timer, participants focus on music, rhythm, and movement. Before they realize it, they've completed an enjoyable workout while improving coordination and boosting their mood at the same time.

Of course, anyone with serious back injuries or chronic pain should always consult a healthcare professional before starting a new activity. But for many people looking to stay active without punishing their bodies, low-impact dance offers a refreshing alternative.

People often think of dancing as entertainment, exercise, or simply a fun way to spend an evening. But researchers have spent years discovering something far more surprising—it may also be one of the best activities for keeping the brain healthy as we grow older.

One of the most frequently discussed findings comes from research published in the New England Journal of Medicine, which followed older adults over many years. Among several leisure activities studied, regular dancing was associated with the greatest reduction in the risk of developing dementia. Unlike many other hobbies, dancing combines physical movement, balance, memory, coordination, rhythm, and constant decision-making all at the same time.

Every step challenges the brain to process music, anticipate movement, and respond to a partner or instructor. Learning new routines creates fresh neural connections, while the social aspect helps reduce isolation, another factor linked to cognitive decline.

Scientists believe this unique combination makes dancing especially powerful because it exercises both the body and the mind simultaneously. Whether it's ballroom, salsa, line dancing, or simply moving around the living room, every routine asks the brain to stay active in ways that many other activities don't.
