part of the annual Damba Festival.

It blends endurance running with Dagbon
traditions to promote health, unity, and cultural tourism in Northern Ghana.

The Damba Marathon organizing team paid courtesy visits to the Gukpe Naa, Chogu Naa, Sagnarigu Naa, Lamashe Naa, and Tamale Dakpema Palaces to formally invite the traditional leaders to participate in the Damba Marathon on 5th September 2026.

The team shared the vision of the marathon and sought their blessings, participation, and support. We are grateful for the warm reception and encouragement received from the various traditional authorities.
