GHALCA PRESIDENT’S CUP 2025 LAUNCHED IN ACCRA.
GHALCA in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation on Thursday 12th June, 2025 launched the President’s Cup 2025 in Accra. The 2025 President’s Cup will be between Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on 6th July, 2025.
In attendance at the brief launching ceremony were Mr. William Kartey (Chief Director, Ministry of Sports and Recreation), Mr. John Ansah (Chairman, GHALCA), Mr. Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi “Bola Ray” (Member, President’s Cup 2025 Fundraising/Planning Committee), Mr. Osisiadan (SUCCA Africa), Phyllis Marku Mensah (Vice Chairperson, GHALCA), Mr. Sarfo Duku and Emmanuel Antwi (Reps from Asante Kotoko) and Mr. Opare Addo and Benjamin Asare (Reps from Hearts Oak).
Speaking at the event, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation representing the Minister stated that the ministry wants to make this year's President a memorable and one of a kind event. He also used the opportunity to announce the members of the 2025 President’s Cup fundraising and Planning Committee which includes; Dr. Tony Aubynn (Chairman), Mr. Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi “Bola Ray” (Member), Dr. Kofi Abban (Member), Mr. Yaw Sakyi Afari (member), Ms. Veronica Commey (member) and Phyllis Marku Mensah (member).
The GHALCA chairman on the other hand stated that the 2025 President’s Cup will focus on climate change and will use the opportunity to advocate for climate change. The GHALCA chairman used the opportunity to introduce SUCCA Africa, a partner of GHALCA which is focused on using football as a tool to fight for climate change.
The President’s Cup is an annual football event under the auspices of GHALCA which is used to honor the President’s of Ghana. This year's edition will take place on Sunday, 6th July, 2025 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
