In one week's time, on Monday 10 July, the cycling time trial will be held along the west coast. The roads shown in red will be closed from 9am till 1pm.
Best viewing points - L'Eree, Rocquaine, Vazon, Cobo, Grandes Rocque, Portinfer, the Houmet, the Longfrie
The race starts at the old L'Eree Hotel at 9.30am, with riders heading off at 1 min intervals. First they go south, turning near the Imperial Hotel, then they zoom up North to just past the Peninsula Hotel, looping round, and going back to L'Eree. Then it's a 3 km climb up to the finish line near the Longfrie filter.

We've been watching our Guernsey2023 hammer throwers out in the field and can tick off another season's best as Sia Banbury throws 44.69cms, not far off her island record. She is rapid in that circle. Have we mentioned the Island Games? All those free events to watch right on our doorstep and our athletes bang on form. Excited? Guernsey Athletics

U17 athlete Charlie Hynes takes a big chunk off his PB in the 800m as he edges past Toby Mann, also a PB, for the win - Toby's race face down the final straight was the best though, so kudos for that! We had some cracking middle distance running yesterday from the Guernsey Athletics athletes up in Manchester - head on over to the club's Facebook for a rundown of that but they smoked it!

17 ára gamli Jónas Isaksen, er við á oyggjaleikunum fyri fyrstu ferð ☺️

Jónas er ein av okkara íðkarum, sum hetta seinasta ári, hevur víst sera góð framstig í úrslitum.
Hann hevur vant frælsan ítrótt í Bragdinum, síðani hann var 10 ára gamal og hevur hann altíð møtt væl og vant væl.
Í dag gongur hann í 1.g á Glasi og fer hann direkta til venjing aftaná skúlatíð.

Jónas eigur í dag føroysku metini á hesum teinunum :
- 60m
- 100m
- 200m
- 400m
- uttandura longdarlop

Og somuleiðis er hann partur av føroyska metinum í 4x100m boðrenning.

Á oyggjaleikunum skal Jónas kappast í 200m, 400m, 4x100m og 4x400m.
Hansara besta tíð á 200m er 21,76 sek og besta tíð á 400m er 47,61 sek.
Hesar tíðir leggja hann fremstan í sínum aldursbólki í kongaríkinum.

Afturat kann nevnast um Jónas, at hann júst hevur klárað kravið til U20 europameistaraskapið, sum verður í Jerusalem í august í ár, umframt, at hann er úttikin at luttaka í ‘Nordiske mesterskaber’ í frælsum ítrótti. Tað er fyrstu ferð, at Norðurlandameistaraskapið í frælsum ítrótti verður hildið, og verður tað í ár á Østerbro Stadion komandi vikuskiftið.

Jónas gleðir seg til oyggjaleikirnar og U20 EM í summar. Harumframt, venir hann fram ímóti, at kvalifisera seg til U20 heimsmeistaraskapið, sum í 2024 verður hildið í Lima, Peru 🧐🤩

We were lucky to have Jet the Puffin at The Ladies’ College today to top off a fantastic morning of Island Games Fun.
The Upper Four have been making some wonderful resources in their tutor groups to help teach the students at Melrose a bit more about the Games and the visiting nations who will be coming over in less than 50 days!
The whole College from Junior Remove to Lower Five in the Senior School with all their tutors came together on our wonderful playing field to send out an encouraging message to our Guernsey Team!
