We love hearing about what our Strive athletes have been achieving! Amy has been swimming with us for over two years now and has taken on some triathlon challenges, putting her swimming skills and endurance to the test! Her most recent achievement was completing the Sprint Triathlon at the Outlaw Nottingham event last weekend! 👏🏻👏🏻

It’s brilliant to see Amy’s confidence grow - she doesn’t let anything get in her way of achieving her goals. She’s a huge inspiration and I’m sure her daughter, one of our Strive Junior swimmers, is enormously proud of her too!

Thanks for being part of our Strive Community Amy! 🤩

Before we started lifting our weights this evening, we had a little fun with this Floor is Lava game 🙌🏽

The sciencey bit: the challenge is a great way to prime motor function, target processing and problem solving skills as well as all that balance, coordination and even grip strength! There is always method in our madness… 🤪

Congratulations to another wonderful Strive athlete, Fred, on completing his first ever marathon today in Prague 💪🏽🤩🥳

Conditions were hot but thanks to really consistent training, including weekly S&C sessions, Fred completed the distance in 4 hours 🙌🏽

Fred joined Strive just 2 years ago and before this, hadn’t made fitness or ‘training for something’ part of his life. We remember early conversations where he couldn’t imagine being able to swim, run or bike great distances. But with courage and conviction, he joined group training, made friends and has devoured challenges including swimming to Herm, taking part in Guernsey Tri and Guernsey Athletics events. Multi sport is now part of Fred’s life and we feel pretty honoured to have him in our community 🥰

(Congrats also to Jack, Fred’s marathon buddy!)

STRIVE JUNIOR SWIM SPACES AVAILABLE!!

We have spaces available in the following Junior Swim sessions:

Tuesday 4-4.45pm at Les Beaucamps High. Spaces available for ages 6 and up who can already swim 25m without swim aids.

Thursday 4-4.45pm at St Sampsons High. Spaces available for ages 6 and up who can already swim 25m without swim aids.

Thursday 4.45-5.30pm at St Sampsons High. Spaces available for ages 11+ who are competent across all strokes. Spaces also available for 13+ for stronger swimmers looking for a non-club environment to continue developing swim fitness and form.

THIS TERM is our lifesaving and open water term. As well as developing swim technique across the strokes, we use our time together to develop the essential lifesaving and open water skills that we want our Island children to have. We also have a session at the beach to put it all into practice.

SCHOOLS TRI GUERNSEY takes place Friday May 15th at St Sampsons High!

Sign Up forms have now been sent out to Schools who wish to submit teams for Year 5, 6, 7 and 8. Entries must be received by APRIL 17th!

If your child is interested in taking part, speak to your school to make sure they've received all of the information. We don't want anyone to miss out this year!!

Last week, Strive swimmer, Florence, won a prize for her entry in the ‘Get Caught Reading’ competition. This photo was taken at the end of her Strive swim session and won for being the craziest place to be caught reading. We just love it! 🤩❤️🙌🏽
