The 2026 outdoor bowls season is officially just around the corner, with the Rhymney Valley Bowls Association confirming that action will get underway on Wednesday 22 April.

Following a brilliant 2025 campaign, our local clubs are ready to return to the greens for a summer filled with competition and community spirit. This year brings an extra layer of excitement with the introduction of the new Super5 League Cup. This fresh format is designed to get more people involved, with 16 players per team competing across five rinks in a mix of pairs, triples, and fours.

Our Chairman, Steve Amos, noted that the start of a new season is always a special time and expressed his enthusiasm for how the Super5 format will bring a new level of strategy and involvement to the league.

Whether you are a seasoned bowler or someone looking to try a new sport, our clubs offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone. We warmly invite spectators to come along, enjoy the atmosphere, and support their local teams throughout the spring and summer months.

We look forward to seeing you all by the green soon.

Rhymney Valley Final Day 2025

Good morning all, as per the AGM our finals day will take place on Saturday 13th. September. Venue Gelligaer Bowls Club.

Gelligaer are again looking forward to hosting the event and extending a warm welcome to all the finalists and supporters.
As a venue Gelligaer offers car parking, club house facilities and refreshments etc. at the green.

The Finals will start with the junior under 18 Final. This will start at 1pm sharp. The finalists for the junior’s should report for sign in and rink draw no later than 12:40pm.

All other finalists are asked to report for sign in and rink draw no later than 1:45pm.
The rest of the finals will start as soon as the juniors have finished but no later than 2:30pm.

We wish all the very best to everyone taking part and look forward to seeing you all on the day.
