There was a season in my life when I felt completely overwhelmed as a parent of a child with cerebral palsy.
Every day seemed to revolve around appointments, therapy exercises, caregiving responsibilities, financial pressures, and worrying about my daughter's future. I loved my child deeply, but there were moments when I felt exhausted, isolated, and unsure if I was doing enough.
As a first-time parent of twins, I often questioned myself. Was I giving my child the best care? Was all the effort making a difference? Could I keep going like this?
What made it even harder was that while I was focused on caring for my child, I was slowly neglecting myself. The stress was constant. My mind was always racing. I carried guilt when I missed a therapy session and frustration when progress seemed slow.
Then I realized something important that I could not really give her the best care if I am empty .
I needed more than therapy techniques. I needed a system that would help me stay emotionally strong, focused, and consistent without burning out since i have other things to do ti balance life.
Instead of trying to do everything perfectly, I began taking one step at a time. I created simple routines. I learned to focus on progress rather than perfection. I strengthened my mindset, leaned on my faith, and developed practical ways to stay consistent with my daughter's care.
The result was not that life suddenly became easy. The result was that I was no longer controlled by overwhelm.
I became more confident in my role as a parent. I gained clarity about what mattered most. Home therapy became more consistent because I was no longer operating from a place of constant stress and exhaustion.
Today, when I work with other parents, I understand their struggles because I have lived them. I know what it feels like to wonder if you are doing enough. I know the weight of responsibility that comes with caring for a child with additional needs.
That is why I am passionate about helping parents move from overwhelm and survival mode to confidence, consistency, and hope. Because thriving is possible, even in the middle of challenges.
If you are feeling overwhelmed right now, please know this, you do not have to walk this journey alone, and you do not have to be a perfect parent to make a meaningful difference in your child's life.
