Helperby & Brafferton

Helperby & Brafferton Local community hub. Helperby is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England, about five miles west of Easingwold.

Over the years it has joined on to Brafferton. Helperby has a Millennium hall, Golden Lion & Oak Tree Pubs and a butcher. The parish church of St Peter's and Methodist Chapel, which is now house. In 2008 Helperby had a new pavilion at the football and cricket pitch.

📢 COMMUNITY UPDATE – THE GOLDEN LION

We know things have been a little quiet recently, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.

Behind the scenes, the Community Pub & Hub team has been working hard to explore a range of opportunities to secure the future of the Golden Lion as both a pub and a valued community space.

One important piece of good news is that the building has now been granted Asset of Community Value (ACV) status, thanks to the hard work and support of the Parish Council. This protects the building from being converted into residential use for the next five years and helps safeguard its future for our community.

We will be sharing a full update, including the options available and the work that has been taking place, at a community meeting on:

This is an important meeting for everyone who cares about the future of the Golden Lion and our village.
